Over the last few weeks, many Magic: the Gathering cards have spiked in price as a direct result of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and the hype surrounding the set’s effect on Commander. Sometimes these cards will spike overnight, and when they do, I report on them. But there are other cards that have gradually risen in value with overall substantial gains which I’d like to cover in this article.
Aurelia, the Warleader
Since the release of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, the Gatecrash printing of Aurelia, the Warleader, rose from about $18.00 to almost $30.00. And the Guild Kit printing art saw even larger gains; it was about $20.00 before Kamigawa, but at the time of writing, there are only 5 listings left on TCGPlayer, the lowest of which is $40.00.
The reason behind Aurelia’s burst of attention is Isshin, Two Heavens as One, the most popular Commander from Neon Dynasty according to EDHREC. Together, Aurelia and Isshin grant you three combat steps in one turn.

Starfield of Nyx
There are two Commanders in Neon Dynasty that make use of Starfield of Nyx. Both Go-Shintai Life’s Origin and Light-Paws, Emperor’s Voice, are enchantment-focused decks that synergize with Starfield. Because of this, Starfield of Nyx rose from $11.00 to $16.00.

Nomad Mythmaker & Umbra Mystic
Light-Paws, Emperor’s Voice, is in my opinion, the best and most fun Commander you can play if you want to build a deck around Auras. Many cards that synergize with the Commander have consequently gone up in price.
Nomad Mythmaker was about $2.00-$3.00, but these days, it’s closer to $6.00 (depending on condition). Umbra Mystic saw greater gains, jumping from $5.00 to about $10.00.

Aurelia’s Fury & Magma Opus
Aurelia’s Fury was about $1.00 before Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Now, the card is almost $5.00.
Magma Opus saw similar price increases, going from $1.00 to $6.00.
Both cards increased in price because of the new Commander Hinata, Dawn-Crowned. Hinata enables Aurelia’s fury to target every creature on the battlefield for no extra cost and can discount Magma Opus to just two mana.

Silent-Blade Oni
Ninja decks gained substantial support in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Silent-Blade Oni fits into two popular Commander decks, Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow, and the new Satoru Umezawa. Because of this, the card went from $5.00 to almost $15.00, depending on the printing.
