Wizards of the Coast has only revealed a few Mystical Archive cards from the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Strixhaven: School of Mages, but one piece of art featured on the packaging of the set’s Collector Booster box may hint at one of the 63 sorceries and instants in the Mystical Archive, a separate set of alternate-art cards associated with Strixhaven.
The Strixhaven: School of Mages Collector Booster has been revealed, and it features art for what appears to be one of the Magic’s iconic blue sorceries and instants. The brilliant art features a blue-haired person reading a book. WOTC hasn’t yet revealed the Mystical Archive card that features this art, but take a look below and see if you can guess.

Similar to Masterpiece Series in Kaladesh, the Strixhaven’s Mystical Archive includes 63 of the most famous instants and sorceries of all time in specially designed showcase frames and at all rarities. The cards will only be legal in formats that they are already legal in, and they will appear more often than the Masterpiece Series. The cards may also be used in Limited formats like Booster Draft and Sealed. The cards with specially designed showcase frames can be found in Strixhaven booster packs: one each in Draft Booster and Set Booster, and three in each Collector’s Booster.Be sure to check out the Strixhaven spoiler section to find out the latest cards already revealed.
Strixhaven: School of Mages is scheduled to release for tabletop on April 23. The 87th MTG expansion is expected to release digitally on MTG Arena and Magic Online probably a week before its tabletop release. You can find out more details about Strixhaven here.
