Next week, Wizards of the Coast has their Magic Showcase 2021 Stream. During this stream, we will be treated to what is coming next for Magic: the Gathering. There has been some rumors floating around that 2 upcoming sets are going to be Kamigawa: Neon Dynasties and Dominaria United. Back in October 2020, several domains were registered by Network Solutions and Wizards of the Coast. Network Solutions is a domain registrar where many companies can register website names.
The one registration that we didn’t hear hardly anything about is Streets of New Celesta. Both NewCelesta.gg and StreetsofNewCelesta.gg were registered as websites, and these were registered along side “Innistrad Double Feature“. This has since been confirmed with Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, and Innistrad: Crimson Vow.
What Could New Celesta Be?
New Celesta is a brand new plane so what could we expect to see? There is no information about this at all, and Wizards hasn’t confirmed any of the rumors, so we can only speculate. My best guess with New Celesta is that it could be some kind of plane of angelic creatures, or celestial bodies. The only thing that seems a bit strange is the set name has “streets” in the title, so maybe there’s this takes place in a major city landscape, similar to Ravnica. If you want to learn more about this, you can check out the Reddit thread that details some of these findings here.

We don’t have a ton of information around any of these 3 names. The most that we do have is some story and images from a Wizards focus group survey for Kamigawa, Neon Dynasties, being the “cyberpunk” realm that Mark Rosewater talked about on his Blog. Hopefully these 3 sets and more will be announced in the stream next week! Be sure to stay tuned as we’ll bring you all the information from that stream and more as it breaks.
What do you think that New Celesta is themed around? Do you think this is Realm of the Angels, or something else entirely? Let us know in the comments!
