Wizards of the Coast just dropped a ton of new Secret Lairs on players. There’s new art, a new IP Collaboration, and a brand new kind of Secret Lair that has a lot of people talking. All the shiny, new reprints are enticing, but they also caused a certain coin-flipping Reserved List card to spike.

Frenetic Efreet

Wizards of the Coast

This week, Frenetic Efreet jumped from $12.00-$15.00 to $22.00+, with only 48 listings remaining on TCGPlayer at the time of writing.

**Because Frenetic Efreet is a very old card, condition plays a big factor in its pricing.** Lightly Played copies are now going for $35.00!

Why Did Frenetic Efreet Spike in Price?

The Secret Lairs we’ve had thus far have been reprints of a handful of cards, generally 3-6 old cards with new art. But, for the first time ever, WOTC is releasing an entire preconstructed Commander deck through Secret Lair!

The Heads I Win, Tails You Lose Commander deck features the coin-flipping tag team, Zndrsplt and Okaun, as its commanders. There are several cards getting the new art treatment, as all Secret Lairs have, and they are absolutely gorgeous.

But they are coming with a whole deck focused around flipping coins. The deck is packed with value, but players many players are still going to want to upgrade the deck.

That’s where Frenetic Efreet comes in! It allows you to flip a coin for zero mana, potentially triggering your Commanders’ abilities.

Will Efreet’s New Price Hold?

Frenetic Efreet is on the Reserved List. That means it will never get reprinted. Because of this, there’s a really good chance that it’s price will only go up from here, as players look to upgrade their new coin-flipping Commander decks.
