Article at a Glance

This week, a new Secret Lair caused a coin-flipping genie to shoot up in price, a card-drawing spirit saw a surge of demand, and a certain Modern staple is on the rise.

Welcome to The MTG Marketplace, a weekly article on MTG Rocks where we cover each week’s biggest price spikes and overall market trends.

Weekly Winners

Drogskol Reaver

Wizards of the Coast

Drogskol Reaver was almost bought out over the weekend, consequently causing the card to jump from $5.00 to almost $20.00. Since then, more copies of Drogskol Reaver have hit the market and brought down the price a bit. It’s currently hovering around $15.00.

Frenetic Efreet

Wizards of the Coast

An unprecedented Secret Lair was announced this week. It’s an entire Commander deck called Heads I Win, Tails You Lose, focused around Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom and Okaun, Eye of Chaos.

The coin-flipping theme of the new deck caused the Reserved List card, Frenetic Efreet, to jump in price earlier this week. It was $12.00-$15.00, but today Frenetic Efreet is sitting at $22.00+.

Keep an Eye On

Urza’s Saga

Urza’s Saga is one of the most played lands in the Modern format and recently it’s been going up in price. It fuels decks like Amulet Titan, Hammer Time, Affinity, and more!

While at one point people thought Urza’s Saga would be banned, the Modern format has since stabilized. For this reason, in addition to the Enchantment Land’s renowned position in Modern, it’s currently trending upwards in price. A few months ago, you could pick up Urza’s Saga for $20.00. Today, the lowest you could buy an Urza’s Saga for is about $27.00, and it could go higher.

Weekly Losers

Jeska’s Will

Jeska’s Will is one of the most powerful new cards that came out of Commander Legends, played in various types of red Commander decks. It’s common in cEDH, Commander at its most competitive level.

Since its printing, Jeska’s Will has spiked in price multiple times. There was a time when it was just $2.00. Then people realized how good it was and it jumped to $10.00, then to $15.00, and then to $25.00. Well, if you thought you missed out on the Jeska’s Will craze, I’ve got good news for you. It’s trending back down and is available for as little as $17.00 today.
