Rejoice Cat and Dog lovers! With Streets of New Capenna comes new support for both tribes of furry four-legged friends. There’s even a new commander that combines the two creature types into one pet-themed deck.

Rin and Seri, Inseparable | Wizards of the Coast

Up until Streets of New Capenna, Rin and Seri, Inseparable, was the go-to commander if you wanted to merge cats and dogs into one deck.

Now, with the introduction of Jinnie Fae in New Capenna, you have an important choice to make as to who will take the helm of your Cat-Dog deck. Will it be the OG duo? Or will you experiment with the new Cat-Dog token populator? (Regardless of which you decide to make your commander, you’ll likely play the other inside the 99 of the deck.)

Jinnie Fay, Jetmir’s Second

What a unique token-maker, right? Jinnie Fay replaces ANY tokens you would make with either Cats or Dogs. This effect is not limited to replacing creature tokens. You can turn Food, Blood, Clues, and Treasure into Cats and Dogs!

Whereas Rin and Seri decks build around various Cat and Dog creature cards, Jinnie functions differently. She’ll likely still play cards like Feline Soverign and Pack Leader. But Jinnie Fay will place a higher emphasis on other token producers like Academy Manufactor, Smothering Tithe, and Dockside Extortionist.

More Cats in New Capenna

The Cabaretti crime family of New Capenna is filled with more feline friends which could make great inclusions in either Rin and Seri or Jinnie Fay.

Jetmir, Nexus of Revels

The head of the Cabaretti, Jetmir, is the perfect finisher in go-wide strategies. After you amass an army of Cats and Dogs with Jinnie Fay, Jetmir will boost their stats to lethal levels, giving your creatures up to +3/+0, vigilance, trample, and double strike.

Kitt Kanto, Mayhem Diva

Kitt is the face of the New Capenna Commander deck, Cabaretti Cacophony. She makes for an interesting commander in her own right, but she also works well in other Cat-themed decks, giving them a political edge.

Phabine, Boss’s Confidant

Phabine, Boss’s Confidant | Wizards of the Coast

Although she’s not the natural leader of the Cabaretti Cacophony Commander deck, Phabine might be better than Kitt Kanto, Mayhem Diva. Her first line alone makes her worth playing, as it gives haste to all the Cat and Dog tokens that Ren and Seri, and Jinnie Fay make.

But on top of that, Phabine makes tokens, pumps your creatures, and can draw you cards. This is one ferocious feline.
