It’s no secret that Wizards of the Coast is starting to seriously push MTG crossovers with other intellectual properties. After the massive success of Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth last year, the floodgates have been opened to replicate similar results. The next big crossover coming to the world of Magic is Marvel, and the superhero franchise is coming to our world sooner than we think.
While we haven’t heard much of MTG X Marvel, aside from a massive unconfirmed leak, we will finally be hearing the first real details of the crossover this week. On Friday, MTG X Marvel is slated to make an appearance.
MTG X Marvel at NYCC
Information about the set is slated to be revealed at the New York Comic Con on Friday, October 18th. We’re not exactly sure what this information will be, but this is the first time we’re officially hearing about the massive MTG X Marvel crossover.
We expect the preview panel to start around 4:30 EST.
Among the potential things that the presentation could bring, we expect an official release date for the larger MTG X Marvel collaboration at the least. Considering the leaked cards seemed to be for a Secret Lair, we also may find out more about these cards. Hopefully, we could even see a few more MTG X Marvel spoilers. Of course, none of this information is confirmed to appear during the presentation.
One thing that seems almost certain to appear in this initial MTG X Marvel presentation is some artwork from the set. This is commonly one of the first things revealed to the public whenever a new MTG set begins to hit the internet.
While the official presentation has a date, there should be additional reveals at the Marvel booth during the Comic Con. These should appear online, and we’ll be sure to cover them when we see what’s going on.

MTG X Marvel Leak
A massive leak occurred recently, sharing to the internet what appears to be an upcoming Secret Lair for the MTG X Marvel crossover. Because these could be fake, we won’t show off the cards in this article. We instead talk about the leak here.
Despite the potential for this leak to be fake, the overwhelming majority of feedback seems to think otherwise. These cards appear to be far too polished to be something other than the real deal. The leak reveals a first look at mechanically unique cards depicting Wolverine, Black Panther, Iron Man, and Captain America.
Because this is potentially a Secret Lair, there’s a non-zero chance that this Secret Lair could go for sale at the New York Comi Con itself. Larger Comic Con events routinely have exclusive TCG merchandise that cannot be found anywhere else. A good example is the San Diego Comic Con exclusive flip-walkers that are almost entirely black. These retail for a pretty penny because of how exclusive they are.
