Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro’s publisher best known for developing Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, is recognized as this year’s Extra Life Partner of the Year for its extraordinary commitment to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through innovative fundraising and awareness initiative.

As CMN reports, more than $1.6 million was raised for local CMN Hospitals in 2020 through D&D and Magic community fundraising, the Secret Lair: Extra Life 2020 drop with limited edition MTG Cards, merchandise, and other virtually innovative campaigns throughout the year.

Last October, Wizards of the Coast and Extra Life teamed up to raise money for CMN Hospitals with the company selling the unique Secret Lair drop, uncut sheets of Magic cards, and other MTG related merchandise.

Each copy of Secret Lair Extra Life 2020 included a foil Amulet of Vigor, Collected Company, Consecreated Sphinx, and Teferi’s Protection each with new artwork.

“Donations raised through Wizards of the Coast will go to the Wizards of the Coast Autism Center Development Fund at Seattle Children’s Hospitals and will help support the highest priorities that will advance patient care and program development for Seattle Children’s Autism Center,” CMN Hospitals said in a statement.

“These discretionary funds shall be used at the discretion of the Autism Center’s Executive Director and Autism Center Leadership and are intended for efforts to expand clinical and outreach programs, including community training, clinical program development, staff and family training, family navigation support, crisis management, and other purposes critical to enhancing services for families living with autism spectrum disorders,” CMN Hospitals added.
