In the recent past, Wizards of the Coast has created some incredible show case art work and frames for newer cards in Standard. One of the newest iterations of these showcase treatments is the “Eternal Night” art. We were first shown this art style during the Sneak Peak Stream a last month with the basic lands.

Now we preview season under way, we know that more cards are going to be getting this very treatment as well which is really exciting.

The art style behind these cards are based on the old school monster movie posters. You get the true sense of the gothic horror with these detailed pieces that are unlike anything we’ve ever seen in Magic before. Well now, we have a video of what these cards look like in person! Gavin Verhey posted a video to his Twitter earlier today showing a foil Island, and Gisa, Glorious Resurrector.

You’ll notice on both of these that the pinstriped border almost pops out from the rest of the card. This is because those elements have been treated with a high gloss application that really lets them stand out from the monochromatic art.

The basic lands will be available in all Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Boosters, and I’d wager that the “Eternal Night” creatures will show up in at least in the Set Boosters and Collector Boosters. There is another showcase frame called “Equinox” which are also beautiful, but in my opinion, pales in comparison to the Eternal Night cards.
