We had just been treated to the announcement of the October Secret Lair drops that had some incredible art included. During that stream, there was 1 drop that they were not able to talk about, which was the Extra Life 2021 Secret Lair. Well today, Wizards of the Coast published what the drop is going to be, and the incredible story behind it.
What is Extra Life?
Extra Life is a charity that works with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Gamers across the country to help raise money for their local children’s hospitals. Various streamers and companies participate in the national game day for Extra Life every year to help raise those funds. This year’s National Game Day is November 6th, where Wizards will be having some fun stuff happening over on their Twitch Channel. For their donations, all the funds will go directly to the Autism Center at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. You can learn more about Extra Life and what Wizards is doing here.
The Drop
In addition to the stream, WotC is doing a Secret Lair drop to go along with the event. The 3 cards in the drop are Craterhoof Behemoth, Mulldrifter and Metalwork Colossus. Sounds pretty average right? Well, that’s where you’d be wrong! Wizards asked some very talented young children to draw their interpretations of these 3 cards. Then that art was give to 3 incredible artists, Lars Grant-West, Chris Rahn, and Magali Villeneuve, to breathe further life into those renditions.
But the awesomeness doesn’t stop there! In this drop, you’ll be getting 6 cards in total. You’ll get one copy of each of the children’s versions and one copy of the professional artist’s edition.
Pricing for this drop is $39.99 for Non-foil, and $49.99 for foil. They will be available for pre-order over on the Secret Lair website starting on November 5th at 9 AM PST, through November 8th at 9 AM PST. You can learn more about this Secret Lair drop here.
