We are a mere 2 days away from the start of Innistrad: Crimson Vow preview season, and Wizards of the Coast has given us some more fun things to chew on in the mean time. Just like they did with Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, WotC has put out a promotional poster for Crimson Vow and there’s some very cool things that it confirms. These posters were sent out to local game stores, and Twitter user @Houstofcards posted a picture of the poster online for us to see.

Just like the previous poster, this one sports a beautiful art style on a black background. In this image, we see what looks like the wedding scene between Olivia Voldaren and Edgar Markov. That’s a very interesting thing that we’ll talk about in a second. The other thing that we see is an Angel in the middle of the frame, and what seems like blood flowing back from a cup behind the angel. Around the main picture appears to be the vows of Olivia and Edgar.

Olivia and Edgar

The first thing that we have confirmed is that Olivia Voldaren is going to be marrying Edgar Markov. This is very interesting because Edgar Markov was the person who created the Vampire race on Innistrad, and is the grandfather of Sorin Markov. Edgar will be making his first appearance in a Standard set this time around and it should be exciting.

The Angel

The angel that’s in the middle of the is most likely Sigarda, being that she’s the last “living” angel you could say. Alternatively it could be Liesa, one of Sigarda’s Sisters, who had been risen from death and often befriended the likes of Vampires and Demons. The poster depicts what could be a blood ritual. History on Innistrad could be repeating itself once more here.

When the Vampires were created, Edgar Markov had trapped the angel Marycz, and exsanguinated her. The blood of the angel was used in the ritual to turn the inhabitants of Innistrad, and create the first vampires. My guess is that there could be another ritual taking place, with Sigarda as the sacrifice, and Liesa may play into that story in some way.
