Despite the Camp Totally Safe Secret Lair Superdrop only going for sale at the beginning of this week, players are already receiving their products of choice. As a result, Secret Lair Bonus Cards are hitting the scene faster than we expected.
There were multiple IP crossovers available in Magic’s most recent Secret Lair drop. In addition to Ghostbusters, Chucky fans could also purchase a themed Secret Lair with their favorite horror villain.
Not only has one of the Ghostbusters Secret Lair card been revealed, but we now know what the Chucky Secret Lair Bonus Card is as well! While not particularly pricy, this is the first MTG card I, and likely many others, thought of when hearing about a Chucky crossover.
Incredibly Flavorful, but That’s It
If Stuffy Doll isn’t the perfect flavorful MTG card to include in a Chucky-themed Secret Lair, I don’t know what is. Once upon a time, this creature was a real menace, but nowadays, it’s not too exciting. Other, stronger versions of this card with similar abilities have been printed since its inception, like Brash Taunter.
As iconic as Stuffy Doll is, the card is not particularly exciting as a game piece reprint. Not even worth a single dollar, Stuffy Doll only sees very select play in some Commander decks, but nowhere else. With an abundance of exile-based removal hitting the scene since its original printing in Time Spiral, Stuffy Doll is not the board stall menace that it used to be. This is a really easy card to remove nowadays, and alternative options do Stuffy Doll’s job, but better.
Regardless, this is perhaps the most flavorful bonus card that MTG players could find in a Chucky-themed Secret Lair. I was personally disappointed when I didn’t see a Stuffy Doll card in the main product. So, even though this reprint is an absolute bust in terms of value, there should be some MTG players who will be excited to get their hands on the card due to its sheer flavor.
