Back on September 30th, the Camp Totally Safe Superdrop of Secret Lair drops went live. Even though that was less than a week ago, players are already beginning to receive and open up their packages. In fact, the bonus cards for the Ghostbusters Slimer and Chucky have already been revealed.
Well, we can now add The Real Ghostbusters and Tome of the Astral Sorceress to the list, as players took to Reddit to share the bonus card contents. The bonus card selection this time around isn’t too exciting, but at least the choice for The Real Ghostbusters is incredibly flavorful.
Ghost Trap
Soul-Guide Lantern is the bonus card for The Real Ghostbusters Secret Lair. Soul-Guide Lantern is a decent, and fairly popular, tool against graveyard strategies. The card sees play across multiple formats, most notably Modern and Legacy. It’s a solid sideboard card and can also be utilized as a one-of in Urza’s Saga decks as a tutor target. The fact that it doesn’t mess with your graveyard at all makes it quite appealing.
Unfortunately, as a bonus card, most of the flare comes from its flavor rather than its price tag. It makes sense to have a beaming source of light serve as a weapon to keep ghosts at bay, so The Real Ghostbusters is a perfect Secret Lair for this inclusion. Nonetheless, Soul-Guide Lantern is worth just over 10 cents in its cheapest, non-foil form according to TCGplayer.

Viridian Shaman and More
If you were hoping for more from the Tome of the Astral Sorceress Secret Lair bonus card, you may be disappointed. It has been revealed that this drop’s bonus card is another random insert, rather than a fixed flavorful addition. Most of the time you’ll receive a borderless Elf card in this slot, however, there are rarer more exciting pulls.
As you can see above, Viridian Shaman is a new addition to the long list of Elves that can be found. Since this card only sells for $0.12, it’s hardly the most compelling pull. Sadly, this is really nothing new at this point. From Sylvan Ranger to Elvish Visionary, these inserts typically add little extra value to the original Secret Lair.
There’s always the slight chance you pull a rarer, pricier bonus card in the form of Relentless Rats or Persistent Petitioners in this slot, but this is usually quite unlikely. As you might expect, players seem disappointed across the board that there isn’t a more special bonus card in this product.
There are still other Secret Lairs whose bonus cards have not been showcased yet. Perhaps some more exciting pulls will be previewed in the coming days. We’ll just have to wait and see.
