First cards from Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms revealed!
During today’s Weekly MTG stream on Twitch.tv/magic, Wizards of the Coast has revealed new cards from the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set coming this July. The new set brings the storytelling and roleplaying of Dungeons & Dragons to MTG through every card, including the basic lands. There are four of each basic land in the set, and they all feature a prompt for an adventure.
We also get a look at new cards, including the standard and borderless versions of the five-headed legendary dragon, Tiamat, who’s known to be the queen and mother of evil dragons. There’s also a Magic card for Vorpal Blade, one of the most iconic weapons in the roleplaying game as well as an incomplete look at the Beholder card. It’s likely that Wizards didn’t fully reveal abilities to conceal a new mechanic in the game, but previews are expected to begin in June 29, so expect more cards to be revealed starting that day.

Portable Hole, Power Word Kill, Prosperous Innkeeper
Beholder (not fully revealed yet)
It looks like the set will feature Classic Rulebook versions of several cards with a unique card frame. These cards look fantastic, and I can’t wait to see the other cards from this upcoming crossover set.
