The release for Magic: the Gathering‘s newest set, Streets of New Capenna is upon us! It release on MTG Arena today, and will officially release in paper tomorrow! As is tradition, Wizards puts together a Cinematic Release Trailer to give players a real sense of what’s happening in the world. They’ve dropped that very trailer today, and it’s incredible!
Family Means Business
We’re greeted with some blaring trumpets, a jazzy soundtrack and a gorgeous looking cityscape. We then get a dialogue talking through the history of New Capenna. They talk about the Angels were the first, but the demon families were a big part to play in really building the city, even cutting in the Angels on the deal.
We see a great look at each of the family crests, and shots of each of the family heads in all their 3D rendered glory. The cinematic yet again lives up to previous ones. The shine and sheen of this one is stacks up and really immerses us in the world of New Capenna.
One thing I definitely want to highlight here, is the sound track. Wizards of the Coast has been killing it with the per set unique sound tracks. They first started doing that with Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, and have continued the trend with Streets of New Capenna. The sound track, similar to the theme of the set, is all inspired of the sounds of the Roarin’ 20s, bringing jazzy, fun, and down right catchy tunes to our ear holes.
Definitely give it a watch and let us know what you think about it! It definitely ranks up there for us, only really being beaten out by Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and War of the Spark.
