Foil-etched cards debuted in Commander Legends and were a smash hit amongst the Magic: the Gathering community. But since then, Wizards of the Coast reserved the fancy foiling treatment for specialty sets like Modern Horizons 2. Now, for the first time ever, foil-etched cards are coming to a Standard set in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Check out how cool they look:
Which Kamigawa Cards Will Be Foil-Etched?
Wizards of the Coast chose twelve cards to receive foil-etched versions. Thankfully, WOTC chose well. The twelve foil-etched cards are some of the most highly anticipated cards from the set. Here they are:
The foil-etched treatment applies to Phyrexian cards, Ninja frames, Samurai frames, and showcase cards.
It’s sad that Tamiyo was turned into a Phyrexian. But at least you can get her card in a foil-etched Phyrexian treatment.
Tezzeret’s back in Kamigawa and causing chaos with the Planar Bridge. He has a really sweet card this set, made sweeter in that it comes foil-etched.
Farewell will be one of the most played Commander cards from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. It’s one of the best board wipes printed in a long time with the ability to exile a variety of permanents.

Where You Can Foil-Etched Cards
The only way to find a foil-etched card in a booster pack is through Collector Boosters.
It’s a bummer you can’t pull foil-etched cards in Draft or Set Boosters. But if you like premium, alternate art styles, then you’ll want to get a Collector Booster Box anyways because it’s jam-packed with shiny cards.

How Rare Are Foil-Etched Cards?
As you can see from the contents of a Collector Booster in the image below, there’s only one slot in the pack that you can potentially open a foil-etched. But even then, it’s not guaranteed.
Because foil-etched cards a limited to a specific product, and even then aren’t guaranteed, they are going to be hard to find. They will also be extremely expensive.
