This week, Commander card prices are on the move. As the entire set of Battle for Baldur’s Gate is now spoiled, it is beginning to affect the market.

Welcome to The MTG Marketplace, a weekly article on MTG Rocks where we cover each week’s biggest price spikes and overall market trends.

Weekly Winners

Lethal Scheme

I wrote about Lethal Scheme in my finance newsletter a few weeks ago as I thought it had promising financial potential. It was about $2.00 at the time, and I predicted it would rise to $5.00 and could possibly rise to $8.00 long-term.

This week, Lethal Scheme rose to about $10.00.

Cryptolith Rite

Cryptolith Rite | Wizards of the Coast

Cryptolith Rite recently jumped from $12.00 to $16.00. This price increase is due to a new card from Baldur’s Gate, Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss. This new Commander deck centers on creatures with mana abilities, which is exactly what Cryptolith Rite gives all of your creatures.

In case you’re curious about other card synergies with Raggadragga, I wrote a deck guide for the Goreguts Boss.

Trending UP

Goldspan Dragon

Despite its recent reprint in a Challenger deck, the price of Goldspan Dragon is trending up. At its highest, Goldspan Dragon reached nearly $45.00. Then WOTC reprinted it and it reached as low as $18.00. But now, it’s already up to $22.00.

Goldspan Dragon has had a lot of success in Standard lately. Top-tier decks like Temur Treasure variants and Jeskai Storm decks both play it.
