Earlier this month, Wizards of the Coast announced a new Magic: The Gathering Arena event coming this early July, and it’s called Mirror, Mirror. The event lets players run decks that include rebalanced (essentially nerfed) versions of cards currently banned in the Historic format. Now, it looks like the rebalanced cards have been leaked.

Andre Liverod, developer of the third party tracker application MTGA Assistant, recently datamined cards belonging to the set code “ANC” and asked the Reddit community on what they could be used for, and they were able to deduce the purpose of the game files, and how they will be changed for the upcoming event.

Let’s take a look at the rebalanced changes below. Note that these changes may not be the final versions of the cards, but we will update you here on MTGRocks when the patch goes live. Thassa’s Oracle and Time Warp were recently banned in Historic, but they’re not included here.

Change: Look at the top four cards of your library instead of six.

These nerfs look reasonable, so it would be interesting to see if these rebalanced versions can be viable in MTG Arena’s fan-favorite eternal constructed format. Since Historic is a digital-only format, it looks like WotC is finding potential ways to patch the format without banning the cards.
