New MTG Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Leaks Keep Popping Up!

Article at a Glance

We’re in the new year, and there’s a lot of hype building for Magic’s very first set of the year, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty! We’ve seen a handful of cards from Wizards of the Coast directly via their Preview Stream, and Twitter, as well as a handful of leaked cards from Reddit. Well, today that trend continues as 2 potentially new cards made their way to the top of the Magic Subreddit.

As a disclaimer for these kinds of things, THESE CARDS ARE NOT CONFIRMED BY WIZRADS OF THE COAST! THEY MAY NOT BE REAL. Cool, with that out of the way, let’s take a look at these leaks.

Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire

First up, we have Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire, and this comes to us from Reddit user, Freemantic. This one cool because we do know that the name of this card is confirmed from the Preview Stream. What’s more interesting is that this card has the Channel mechanic. This is similar to another land that we saw leaked a few weeks back.

Mark Rosewater stated that they didn’t want to print Legendary Lands anymore. This is because it feels bad drawing multiple copies of them. The Channel mechanic makes this non issue. With this second land, it’s looking like the Legendary land cycle, and Channel making a return is a more likely possibility. As for the card itself, the ability is strong, but it’s playability will be very dependent on if white Legendary creature decks have a seat at the metagame table.

Eiganjo Uprising

The second card we have is called Eiganjo Uprising, and was posted by Mistercimba on Reddit. This card is a token maker sorcery in Red and White. This card lets us pump a bunch of mana into making an army of vigilant, 2/2 Samurai tokens, that gain haste and menace the turn we cast it. This also gives our opponent X minus 1 of those same creature tokens.

This card is really cool, because we see this referencing Samurai creatures. I don’t believe was confirmed at any point, but I think we are all hoping for them. A couple of very cool things about this card, if you cast it for X=2, assuming your opponent has an empty board, your opponent makes only 1 token and cannot block yours. Another thing that really makes this card crazy is that these tokens are not human tokens, so they are fantastic enablers for Winota, Joiner of Forces.
