MTG + LOTR Crossover is coming in the near future, but why wait? Here’s an epic alter from the talented Klug Alters.
Last month, Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast announced that Magic: The Gathering will officially be crossing-over with the popular The Lord of the Rings franchise as part of the Universe Beyond line of special MTG products. Although fans may have to wait a few years before that crossover product comes out, various MTG alters have already been made featuring the characters and locations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-Earth, and the latest is from Klug Alters, who designed a beautiful borderless Misty Rainforest alter inspired by Jerry Vanderstelt’s painting of Rivendell, an Elven town described as “The Last Homely House East of the Sea”.
Over on Twitter, Klug shared his incredibly detailed creation:
While many fans are not open to the idea of Magic crossing over with other IPs like The Lord of the Rings, I’m sure many of them would approve this alter for its brilliant art. We’ve seen some gorgeous Misty Rainforest art before, but this one takes it to a whole new level, and it would be awesome if Wizards of the Coast can include this in the upcoming MTG + LOTR crossover.
