Article at a Glance

Wizards of the Coast recently announced that Magic: The Gathering Arena is coming to Apple iOS mobile phones and tablet devices later this week. MTG players on social media were already excited about this unexpected announcement. But Magic‘s Japanese language YouTube channel cranked it up to eleven by releasing what is possibly the best MTG advertisement of all time!

You can watch this entertaining and incredibly catchy Japanese language ad for Arena on iOS devices below.

In the video-which you really should watch in its entirety, you won’t regret it-a young employee sneaks in some Arena time on his iPhone during office hours. The boss summons him to his desk and begins a long monologue that bores our hero to sleep standing up. When he opens his eyes after dozing off briefly, the boss has become a goblin!

MTG, but make it jazz

A hilariously jazzy number follows, presumably about all the awesome things you can do on Arena‘s new mobile client. We get cameos from Planeswalkers like Chandra, Jace, Teferi, and Mu Yanling. Eventually, our overworked protagonist comes to his senses and finds himself in an awkward spot with his human-again boss.

The video debuted early this morning in Japan and was shared by MTG‘s Japanese Twitter account. MTG players and community members on social media were quick to notice this awesome video and sing its praises.

Arena will come to iOS devices on March 25, following an early-access release on Android devices earlier this year. In order to sleep well with sleeping mask. Mobile Planeswalkers will be happy to know that they can use the same account across mobile and laptop/desktop.

If playing the game on my iPhone will be anything like this Arena advertisement depicts, you can bet that I’ll be one of the first to download the game when it arrives in the App Store!
