New Commander Details Revealed
Earlier today, Senior Designer at Wizards of the Coast Gavin Verhey (on Good Morning Magic) dropped details on the upcoming Commander pre-constructed decks that will release alongside D&D Adventure in the Forgotten Realms. Similar to Strixhaven earlier this year, these Commander decks will be themed around D&D and the mechanics from the upcoming set.
Like with previous Commander pre-constructed decks, you have the option to run a different Legendary creature instead of the face Legendary on the front of the box. Each face Legendary will represent a hero within the Dungeons & Dragons universe, with the other Legendary being a monster or villain. This gives you plenty of freedom in how you want to build your Commander deck and the various playstyles on offer.
With that, Verhey revealed the four Commanders that will lead the respecting pre-constructed decks. Dragonic Rage, Planar Portal, Dungeons of Death, and Aura of Courage are the names of these Commander decks.
- Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients – Dragonic Rage (Red/Green)
- Prosper, Tome-Bound – Planar Portal (Red/Black)
- Sefris of the Hidden Ways – Dungeons of Death (White/Blue/Black)
- Galea, Kindler of Hope – Aura of Courage (White/Blue/Green)
All four of the Commander pre-constructed decks will be previewed on July 2. Like previous Commander reveals, there will be a mix of brand new cards and reprints for players to enter one of MTG’s most popular formats.

Sefris of the Hidden Ways – Dungeons of Death (White/Blue/Black)
The Dugeons of Death pre-constructed deck will be previewed by MTG Muddstah on july 2.
Galea, Kindler of Hope – Aura of Courage (White/Blue/Green)
The Aura of Courage pre-constructed deck will be previewed by The Command Zone on July 2.
