Despite Universes Beyond getting more sets in 2026, this is a big year for in-universe Magic: The Gathering. Not only did we return to Lorwyn, at long last, but we’ve also got a major capstone set this year. Releasing in early October, Reality Fracture will finally end Magic’s three-year Metronome arc with a bang.
Reality Fracture takes us into the Echoverse, a “what if?” version of the Multiverse created by the planeswalker Jace Beleren. With mirrored pairs of legends and Hexhaven, a dark inversion of Strixhaven, at its heart, this is a set that plays with the very foundations of Magic itself. If you’re looking for the lowdown on this exciting new expansion, we’ve got you covered with everything there is to know.
MTG Reality Fracture Release Date

MTG Reality Fracture will be released on October 2nd, 2026. Additionally, Prerelease events for the set will run from September 25th to October 1st.
So far, we’ve had no official word as to when Reality Fracture’s spoiler season will take place. Given the typical release pattern, however, we can expect this around three weeks before the set’s release, likely on September 8th.
MTG Reality Fracture Spoilers

Following some unfortunate leaks, we got our first batch of official MTG Reality Fracture spoilers at MagicCon: Las Vegas. Though this only featured a few cards, it still did plenty to get the community hyped.
The set’s Headliner, Bloodline Recollector, was the highlight here, but we also got a color-shifted Snapcaster Mage with Stingcaster Mage. A mirrored pair of Chandras, a reprint of Torch of Defiance and intriguing newcomer Chill of Compliance, rounded things out nicely.
Currently, Wizards of the Coast has not announced when we will next see any Reality Fracture spoilers. That said, we’ll almost certainly get some kind of update on the set at MagicCon: Amsterdam in July.
MTG Reality Fracture Card Variants

As you’d expect from a new MTG set, Reality Fracture has some spicy alternate card treatments on offer. The big hitter here is the textless, serialized Bloodline Recollector, with only 500 serialized copies worldwide. While prices on serialized cards do fluctuate, this new Headliner could easily sell for several thousand dollars.
Reality Fracture will also feature a stunning new borderless treatment with its shattered mirror cards. Based on the official Wizards product page, this treatment appears to be exclusive to Collector Boosters, but this isn’t 100% confirmed at present.
MTG Reality Fracture Mirrored Legends

As announced at MagicCon: Las Vegas, Reality Fracture will include pairs of mirrored legends in every pack. The two Chandras we saw in the early spoilers are an example of this: If you open one of them in your pack, you’re guaranteed to get the other one as well. This is the big innovation that Mark Rosewater has been teasing about on social media for the past few years, previously thought impossible due to printing requirements.
After MagicCon, Rosewater added some further clarifications about the mirrored legends on Blogatog. He noted that the majority of them will be new cards, and that every mirrored pair will always feature two versions of the same legendary character.
MTG Reality Fracture Products

As with all new MTG sets, Reality Fracture will come with a range of products to purchase. While the set is only getting a single Commander precon deck, you’ll also be able to pick up both a regular Bundle and a new Secret Lair Bundle, as well as a Draft Night product.
All of these products will be released on October 2nd, with the exception of the Secret Lair Bundle, which is set to arrive two weeks later on October 23rd. Though we don’t have the full information on the contents of this Bundle just yet, we do have MSRPS for each product, courtesy of the official WPN website.
