As much as Wizards of the Coast has tweaked the 2026 MTG release calendar, this year is still especially busy. Given that seven sets are being released this year, that’s not entirely surprising, as there’s rarely more than six weeks between them. Unfortunately, this can make it a real struggle to keep up with all the latest goings on and every MTG announcement that happens.
Despite Secrets of Strixhaven only being officially released tomorrow, we’re only a week out from a major MTG announcement. According to Wizards, this one will be a doozy, as well, so you definitely won’t want to miss it
“The Most Exciting Preview Panel Ever”

At this point, we’re no strangers to the Preview Panels that happen at each MagicCon event. Offering us a look at a few months into the future, at least, these always deliver new cards and details about upcoming sets. Considering Marvel Super Heroes is the next MTG set on the horizon, this event certainly won’t be one to miss.
While reveals for Marvel Super Heroes do feel inevitable, it’s unclear what exactly will be revealed. We’ve already had a “Preview Prologue” for this set, so it’s hard to imagine what more we might get. Still, given its proximity and how much Wizards is bound to hype this set, we’re sure to see something.
Considering what Wizards is saying about the Preview Panel for MagicCon: Las Vegas, Marvel Super Heroes previews might just be the start. Supposedly, this “may be the most exciting preview panel ever,” with new cards, art, and “storylines” being promised. Considering Universes Beyond sets don’t have much in the way of story, this might mean we’re finally seeing Reality Fracture.
Despite recent leaks that have somewhat spoiled the show, there are still many details under wraps about this upcoming MTG set. After all, since it was first announced, Wizards has been teasing some major development that previously wasn’t believed to be possible. If we’re lucky, we might finally get to see what that mystery detail is soon.
On top of Marvel Super Heroes and Reality Fracture seemingly being locked in, we can also expect reveals for The Hobbit. Since this set is being released between the others, omitting it would be odd. Admittedly, for now, a lot of this is well-informed speculation; however, we don’t have to wait long for actual answers.
It’s Actually Watchable

According to Wizards, the MagicCon: Las Vegas preview panel will be on Friday, May 1st, starting at 1 PM PDT. As always, we can expect to see reveals all across Reddit, Twitter, and Bluesky as they appear on the main stage. Thankfully, this isn’t the only way to watch this panel this time around.
Earlier in April, Wizards of the Coast confirmed that, for the first time, they’ll be livestreaming panels from a MagicCon. Broadcast on the Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel, this change is an absolute godsend for MTG fans. As much as it was possible to keep up to date before, admittedly, it wasn’t the easiest thing to do.
Previously, MTG players were left relying on blurry photos from the event and somewhat slow official live coverage. While this wasn’t all bad, we had to wait until the panel recordings were published to get the full picture. Now, however, we’ll all be able to watch along at home so we don’t miss a thing.
Thankfully, Wizards isn’t just livestreaming the upcoming Preview Panel either. With livestreams scheduled for the full three days of the event, it should be a fantastic time for the community. We can only hope that Wizards will keep running these events into the future, since we’ve got three MagicCons this year.
