We are inching ever closer to the start of the preview season and subsequent release of Magic: the Gathering‘s newest set, Kamiagawa: Neon Dynasty. Yesterday, we got to see the brand new WPN Store promotional posters thanks to a few fine folks over on Reddit. The poster boasted a bright and vibrant neon color palette, but a more traditional looking Samurai, akin to old school Kamigawa.

Today, we got a look at the bundle art for the set, and it depicts a returning character that honestly, we don’t know a whole lot about!

Now, I’m not sure if these were officially previewed by Wizards of the Coast, but it’s out there, and the art on the bundle box shows The Wanderer is making her return to Kamigawa. We first saw The Wanderer in War of the Spark, and then again in Ikoria. In the story, there’s very little known about here, so let’s hope that there’s more development of her character in this set.

As for the box art we’re greeted to a backdrop of traditional temples, and a bunch of floating talismans. It appears that her clothing fits the aesthetic of the plane, but still is in line with her normal attire. The blade that she’s drawing looks like it could be an energy blade. At the same time, does look very similar to her normal weapon in shape.

We should find out more about the set and possibly her card when Wizards does their first Preview Stream on Dec 16th. Be sure to stay tuned for that, as we’ll be covering everything in that stream, as well as uploading cards to our preview gallery. Make sure to check out our hub for more information about the set.

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is the first set being released for Magic: the Gathering in 2022. This is a set based on the plane of Kamigawa, but 2000 years in the future. The set boasts a traditional Japanese influence, but with futuristic “cyberpunk” elements. It’s set to release on MTG Arena and Magic Online on Feb. 10 2022, and in paper on Feb 18th 2022.
