We’re a few days away from the first preview stream for Magic: the Gathering‘s next set, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. We know that we’ll be seeing some new cards and learn more about the set, as we get ever closer to preview season in the new year. But one of the first assets that we see from new sets are WPN Store promotional posters. Today, we got our first look at the Promo poster for the set thanks to someone over on Reddit!
Reddit User pkuhlman140, who also works at MinMaxGames posted this photo of the brand new poster. While there isn’t anything cryptic about the poster like there was with Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Innistrad: Crimson Vow, there are somethings we can gleam from this.
First off, holy pink Batman! There’s a LOT of pink on this image. The Neon really pops here with all the vibrant colors from the tattoos, to the prismatic shine on the blade.
Next thing that sticks out to me is the lack of apparent “cyberpunk” elements. We know that Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is a future set Kamigawa, that involved mechanical, cyberpunk elements, but we also know that according to Mark Rosewater, this set will feel like Kamiagawa. It does look like that parts of the helmet, shoulder plates and facemask may have some mechanical elements to them though

The Japanese characters in the center translate to “Shining World”. This could be a more direct comparison to “Neon Dynasty”, but also could be a descriptor for the plane. What I’ll say is that this poster definitely brings me a lot of excitement for the upcoming reveal stream. Make sure to check out our Hub on Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty for more info about the set.
