Jumpstart, the ready-to-play Magic: The Gathering supplemental set released last July, was one of the best-selling products of 2020 but some fans had trouble finding a booster box they can purchase due to the lack of supply and production issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, it’s back in stock on Amazon and TCGplayer but it looks like stock could be dwindling!
Jumpstart features themed booster packs designed to be played quickly without the need of deck construction. All you have to do is shuffle cards from two Jumpstart booster packs (each consisting 20 cards) to build a ready-to-play deck. The set features 46 themes and each booster pack contains one of 121 possible card lists so there’s a total of 14 000 possible 40-card decks. The set was also released digitally on Magic: The Gathering Arena.

Currently, Jumpstart booster box costs $150 USD on Amazon, and the 4-pack bundle costs $48.35, so if you enjoy playing quick casual games of Magic with friends, Jumpstart is the perfect product for you.
Last year, Magic head designer Mark Rosewater explained that Jumpstart was not a limited run product, so that means Wizards of the Coast will keep reprinting it “as long as there is demand for it (within the time frame of the product’s lifespan.”

“Due to COVID-related issues, there is less product than we wanted or anticipated in the first wave,” Rosewater said. “For all of you out there that are eager to get your hands on Jumpstart, I promise there’s more coming.”
