Over the last couple weeks, we’ve seen multiple cards that pair nicely with the new Marvel Superheroes spike in price. Neyith of the Dire Hunt surged largely due to its synergy with Wolverine, while cards like Pre-War Formalwear increased in value thanks to synergy with Captain America.
Now, we have another card to share that falls in a similar category. Inventory Management is an intriguing MTG Fallout card for Commander. With the release of the Marvel Secret Lairs, the instant got even more appealing.
Inventory Management Spike
According to TCGPlayer market price history, up until mid-October, Inventory Management stayed firmly below $1. On October 12, the card was valued at a minimal 83 cents. While that number rose slightly over the next couple weeks, it wasn’t until November that we started seeing Inventory Management really start to climb.
On November 2, Inventory Management held a price tag of $1.34. This number has been steadily rising since then. Now, on November 10, the card has passed the $5 mark, sitting at $5.07. For reference, this is a 511% price spike in the last month, which is quite significant.
Looking at recent sales data, there have even been a handful of near mint, non-foil copies of Inventory Management selling for over $7. There’s clearly demand for the card, and the rise in popularity of Captain America, First Avenger seems to be responsible.
Perfect Inclusion in a Captain America Deck
Captain America is undoubtedly one of the more powerful of the new mechanically unique Marvel legends. It also makes for a really cool build-around. The main objective is to get equipment onto the battlefield that have high mana values.
That way, you can use Captain America’s Catch ability to Equip one at a time for free. Then you have the luxury of unattaching them for three mana to deal a bunch of damage to various targets. These abilities work well together obviously, but Inventory Management can really accelerate the damage-dealing process.
Captain America can only attach one Equipment you control to himself per turn, but Inventory Management lets you go berserk all at once. Thanks to Split Second, you can easily blow your opponents out in the middle of combat, especially if one of your equipment gives Trample.
You don’t even need Captain America in play to maximize Inventory Management, since you can shove all your equipment onto any of your threats. This presents a strong backup plan in the instance where Captain America’s Commander tax grows large.
Ultimately, it’s not too surprising to see Inventory Management rise in price significantly. Expect more cards to continue to spike as players craft their Marvel-based EDH decks.
