On August 1st, Edge of Eternities will boldly go to where no MTG set has gone before. In 2025, Magic: The Gathering is getting its very first space-set that takes place at the very edge of the multiverse. If you’re a fan of the sci-fi genre and tropes, then you’re in luck, as Edge of Eternities promises to be truly out of this world.
Space-themed wordplay aside, Edge of Eternities is the third and final in-universe MTG set being released in 2025. This set will also mark the beginning of a new story arc within the major Metronome storyline, or at least it kind of does. Edge of Eternties, besides having some implications, will not be a part of the main story. This means that the main story for Magic: The Gathering sets will not start until 2026.
Now, Edge of Eternities has been fully released to fans across the world. Here’s everything you need to know about Magic’s take on Space Opera. Whether you’re just a space fan or are looking forward to post-rotation Standard, Edge of Eternities is going to have a big impact on Magic: The Gathering.

Edge of Eternities Spoilers
Now that the First Look has passed, we finally have some spoilers for Edge of Eternities. Tezzeret aside, you can find the cards spoiled during the set’s First Look here.
Now that the entire set is out, we know that the Edge of Eternities Bonus Sheet is focused on reimagining famous MTG lands in space. Named Stellar Sights, Wizards of the Coast specifically wanted to focus on lands that would actually appear in Space. This seriously restricted the land choices, making some of the cards appearing on the Bonus Sheet somewhat awkward, but there remains some very expensive chase cards for players to try and acquire.
Some of the more notable spoilers include a one-off piece of Eldrazi and Sliver support appropriately. As for the most expensive cards you’ll find in the set, there are some surprisingly competitive and explosive, cards for constructed and Commander alike.
Edge of Eternities Mechanics
The Seriema was spoiled during the Edge of Eternities First Look, and has the biggest implications for the set amongst anything we’ve seen. Now that we’ve seen the full set, this remains true.
Not only does this introduce Spacecraft as a new Artifact type, but we also have Station, a new Crew-like mechanic that asks you to tap creatures at Sorcery speed. Instead of Station turning an artifact into a creature temporarily, it instead puts counters on an artifact, turning on other abilities permanently.
Station has been confirmed as a new, non-exclusive mechanic, so we may see it on new Vehicle designs in the future.
Otherwise, Warp and Void are the other two new mechanics in Edge of Eternities, and they go hand-in-hand with oneanother. Warp acts similarly to Adventure, but instead of granting a spell two different casting costs, Warp simply allows you to cast a card for cheaper from your hand. In exchange, at the end step, the card will go to exile, where it can be cast for its full mana value. Typically, cards with Warp offer scaling value with ETB and leaving effects that scale as you pay more mana for the card.
Void, on the other hand, acts similar to Revolt, but instead of any of your permanents leaving play, it gets triggered with any nonland permanent leaving play at all. That also means it triggers on your opponent’s cards leaving play. Outside of that, if you Warp a card, you’ll also trigger Void, allowing the mechanics to play together well. While Warp gives scaling benefits in exchange for casting cost discounts, Void grants additional benefits when turned on.
With a new Legendary Vehicle comes a massive change to Commander. Now, players will be able to use Legendary Vehicles and Legendary Spacecraft as Commanders. From what we know so far, this will add 22 new viable Commanders to Magic, but none of those Commanders are admittedly exciting. This could have some major implications on future card designs, however, as Wizards of the Coast could now create Vehicles and Spacecraft with the intention of them becoming your Commander.
Edge of Eternities Products
Last, but by no means least, we’ve already seen the entire product lineup for Edge of Eternities. For the most part, this product lineup looks fairly typical, however, there are only two preconstructed Commander decks. While this isn’t unheard of for a Standard-legal MTG set, it’s nonetheless notable that this continues a growing trend as Wizards attempts to scale back on products.
In a shocking twist, these Commander precons are rather powerful. In a twist we’ve never seen before, two Secret Lairs were designed as upgrades for the decks. The World Shaper one, in particular, gives the deck consistent combo kills.
Thankfully, alongside knowing what products will be in stores, we’ve also been told the official MSRP. Now this information is being shared readily by Wizards, players can make informed price-based purchases when the set is released.
Here’s the rundown for all of the products and prices for Edge of Eternities:
- Play Booster: $5.49
- Collector Booster: $24.99
- Counter Intelligence Commander Deck: $44.99
- World Shaper Commander Deck: $44.99
- Bundle: $53.99
If you want more details on opening rates and available card types in each product, you can find that here.
That’s All For Now
Sadly, that’s all the information we have about Edge of Eternities for the time being. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer before Edge of Eternties will be unveiled to the world, since spoiler season begins on July 8th.
Thankfully, until then, there’s no shortage of MTG content being released. For better or worse, the 2025 MTG release calendar is absolutely chockablock. Between all the in-universe sets and Universes Beyond releases, MTG players definitely won’t be bored this year.
