Just one day after it was teased on social media, the entirety of the upcoming Corn Maze Secret Lair Superdrop was revealed last week. While this is a fairly strong Superdrop for the most part, with a lot of high-value reprints, the KPop Demon Hunters side of things has left many fans disappointed.
Not only did the mega-popular film only get one dedicated drop, but said drop was also fairly underwhelming, with none of the legendary creatures players were expecting. Fortunately, it seems Wizards isn’t done with KPop Demon Hunters just yet: according to a new update, we’ll be getting more Secret Lair drops starring the Huntrix crew yet.
The KPop Demon Hunters Secret Lair Update

“Secret Lair x KPop Demon Hunters: How It’s Done enters the Corn Maze Superdrop on October 12. The crowd’s already chanting for more. Good thing we’ve got more planned! Stay tuned.”

Wizards dropped this post on social media on September 4th, a few days after the full Corn Maze Superdrop was revealed. While not explicit, this very much feels like a response to the concerns players have been raising about the How It’s Done drop, specifically regarding its overall lack of content. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but the logical assumption here is that more KPop Demon Hunters drops are on the horizon, likely filling in the gaps the first drop had.
It’s worth mentioning at this point that How It’s Done is by no means a bad Secret Lair drop. The total value is above rate at around $31, and six of the seven cards (sorry

) are solid Commander staples. The issue here, however, is one of flavor. KPop Demon Hunters is a film defined by its characters and soundtrack, and neither element feels particularly well represented in the cards we’ve had so far.
Wizards could go in a ton of different directions with future drops in this range, but I think at least one will cast the main characters as legendary creatures. This could take the form of a reskin drop (some have already suggested reprinting

as the Huntrix trio), or possibly even new, mechanically unique legends. This would address most of the concerns with the current drop and seems like the most logical choice for the IP.
Alternatively, we could see a drop that leans heavily into the film’s songs, possibly as reskins or Sagas. Heck, we could even see a full-on Secret Lair precon for KPop Demon Hunters, as some are speculating since that would take longer to design than additional drops.
