Earlier this week, Wizards of the Coast released the Cats are the Best Superdrop, after much anticipation. While this sale wasn’t perfect, with multiple drops selling out incredibly quickly, we might not have long to lament this. From the looks of things, a Marvel-themed Secret Lair Superdrop is on the horizon, although Wizards hasn’t announced this yet.
Last week, a new Marvel Secret Lair drop, Spinner Rack Specials, popped up out of the blue. Reskinning five cards from the main set, the drop looked fantastic visually, but its value was a complete mystery. The only slight glimmer of value was the drop’s bonus card, but now it appears that’s not the only one.
MTG Fabricate Bonus Card

Recently, on Instagram, covergeek unveiled their haul of Marvel Super Heroes merch, received at Summer Games Fest. Within this bag was the Spinner Rack Specials Secret Lair drop, which featured a Fabricate bonus card. With art depicting Tony Stark working on an Iron Man suit, the flavor here is absolutely spot on.
Beyond just looking good, this Fabricate bonus card will likely be worth a pretty penny, too. On its own, copies of Fabricate tend to sell for around $7 on TCGplayer. Some Secret Lair printings have peaked as high as $21; however, prices do vary quite a lot. Either way, this is a fantastic bonus card to pull, especially if it’s an ultra-rare, which would be ultra-pricy.
As for the card itself, Fabricate hardly needs any introduction in Commander. As a three-mana artifact tutor, this card already appears in well over 243,000 Commander decks. Thanks to new Commanders like Tony Stark//The Invincible Iron Man, this card is only getting more popular, too.
If you are interested in building a deck around Tony Stark, naturally, this Secret Lair Fabricate is the perfect inclusion. The same is true for the sketch version of this bonus card, which is also a potential pull. Unfortunately, while this is very exciting for Iron Man fans, it’s unclear exactly when this Secret Lair drop is being released.
A Sort of Secret Secret Lair?

Currently, Wizards of the Coast has only stated that the Spinner Rack Specials secret lair will be available at MagicCon: Amsterdam. Curiously, in their announcement, Wizards only said that foil copies would be available at this convention. Notably, there will also be “limited quantities,” which sounds like things could get seriously expensive.
Should this Secret Lair drop only be available at a MagicCon, while supplies last, then prices might be obscene. The Fabraicate and Counterspell bonus cards, in particular, could be some of the most expensive printings of these cards. That being said, there’s no guarantee these cards won’t see a wider release down the line.
Looking back, we have seen Secret Lair drops pop up early at Magic events before. This happened with The Eyes Have It drop, which was given out at a precon tournament at GCX 2025. Since this Secret Lair eventually went on to have a much wider release, there’s a non-zero chance the same could happen again.
Realistically, given how massive Marvel is as a property, it seems inevitable that we’ll be getting Secret Lairs for it. Not only did MTG Spider Man get its own parallel Secret Lairs, but we’re getting more Marvel sets in the future. With this in mind, it seems inevitable that Spinner Rack Specials will see a proper Secret Lair release in time.
The Waiting Game
For now, exactly when this Secret Lair drop might be released to the wider world is unclear. Given that prerelease events for Marvel Super Heroes start tomorrow, with the release one week away, it feels unlikely we’ll get an entire Superdrop before then. That being said, Wizards has announced an entire Superdrop all at once before, so nothing is impossible.
Ultimately, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens to this Marvel Secret Lair drop. Hell, given that MagicCon: Amsterdam is still a month away, we could easily see more Secret Lairs before then. If nothing else, however, this could be the Secret Lair drop for the convention’s Festival in a Box.
