4 Commander preconstructed decks are coming with the release of Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms!
Commander has become the biggest format of Magic: The Gathering, and Wizards of the Coast is continuing to support its player base with brand new preconstructed decks this year. Fans have recently seen the release of 4 Commander 2021 decks with the release of Strixhaven: School of Mages last month, but the trend continues with the release of the next Standard-legal set, Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.
During a recent Weekly MTG stream, Wizards of the Coast has revealed the names of the four brand new Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Commander preconstructed decks, and they are:
- Aura of Courage
- Dungeons of Death
- Draconic Rage
- Planar Portal
Wizards didn’t reveal any details on the contents and themes of each deck, but the names reveal some information.
Draconic Rage is most likely a Dragon tribal list, and this might be the first Dragon Commander deck since Draconic Domination in Commander 2017. Aura of Courage is a 10th level Paladin spell in Dungeons & Dragons, so it’s likely that this deck will be focused on Knight synergies with an equipment cards.
Planar Portal is most likely a blue/white deck that could focus on more control strategies while Dungeons of Death is most likely a black deck that probably features necromancers, zombies, and Beholders.
In addition to the names of the 4 Commander preconstructed decks, Wizards also revealed some new cards from Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, and the packaging of its products.
Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms is set to release for tabletop worldwide on July 23, 2021. It’s also set to release on Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic Online a week earlier.
