Come on in and take a seat. No, seriously, we’re going to be showing off a card with a seat on it today. Well, not showing it, off. It’s fancy, sure, but it’s also been around for a while now, but we’re not sure it’s really getting the attention it deserves.
So, as ever, our quest is to make sure you don’t miss out on a powerful, and currently rather cheap, card that could be the difference between losing and winning. This enchantment is going to let you play extra land cards in any landfall deck, and can even allow you to put creatures into play free of charge.
Welcome to the court
Court of Bounty is a four-mana green enchantment that reads, “When Court of Bounty enters the battlefield, you become the monarch. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield. If you’re the monarch, instead you may put a creature or land card from your hand onto the battlefield.”
In short, as long as you can maintain a good defense, you can keep putting creatures in for free. You can use this in literally any deck that gives you access to green, and you absolutely should. If you combine this with cards like any of the Omnath’s, then you’re not only able to get in your monstrous creatures without trying, but you’ll also be able to gain extra tokens with landfall triggers, which can then in turn protect you.
It doesn’t even really matter what strategy you’re going with, Court of Bounty is sure to help you out due to its versatility. Plus, and this is a big one, monarch is an awesome mechanic that makes every game of Commander more lively, and will also help you draw cards if nobody is brave enough to take the crown from your head.
