Why worry about having to choose your board wipes? Just pick one that does it all.
Article at a Glance

Board wipes, get your board wipes here. We’ve got ’em thin, thick, far-reaching, all-consuming, and even weirdly specific. Well, the latest board wipe comes to us courtesy of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, and it’s the kind of board wipe that’s pretty much an auto-include in any deck that can cast it.

Often the issue with board wipes is that you can’t always hit the things you want to hit. Creature-based ones are fine unless you’re playing an enchantment deck, for example. Well, this particular card nearly hits everything you could possibly want it to, and that’s why you should grab at least one copy of it.

Au revoir

Farewell is a six-mana sorcery that allows you to choose one or more from the following options: exile all artifacts, exile all creatures, exile all enchantments, and exile all graveyards. It doesn’t hit planeswalkers, so it’s no good against superfriends decks, but other than that, this thing is damn impressive.

It means you can put this in your deck in place of roughly four other cards, and because this is Commander, it also means you’re likely able to disrupt multiple opponents with a single cast. Not only that, but because it exiles things instead of just destroying them, it means it messes up those who rely on recursion above all else too.

It’s nice to have this kind of answer in your deck, and as long as you’re playing a deck with white in it, there’s really no reason not to have it. After all, you’re definitely going to be able to do more damage to your foes than you do to yourself, especially if you combine this beastly thing with the right flicker cards, or the ability to phase out, for example.
