MTG Arena players may have more to look forward to than they expected. High-stakes MTG Arena events have proven rather popular amongst the player base, especially considering the absence of third party tournaments for the platform.
While players have the MTG Arena Open series and the Arena Qualifier Weekends to look forward to, there is definitely room for more especially around the holidays.
If your Chaos Sealed skills are up to snuff, you may have more holidays gifts to give (to yourself, or others) than expected. You can now win a Festival in a Box: Los Vegas edition by competing with opponents for chaos sealed supremacy!
MTG Festival in a Box Los Vegas
On December 8, MTG Arena players in the U.S. will have one opportunity to win a Festival in a Box with the contents pictured above. It can be a bit tough figuring out just how much this is all worth. Fortunately, we’ve already looked into what all of this is worth.
That said, numbers tend to fluctuate a bit as time passes, so here is all the contents of the Festival in a Box that MTG Arena players can win and how much each thing is worth according to TCGplayer:
- 1x Mystery Booster: Convention Edition Booster Display (display units include 24 boosters) $130-175 depending on the year
- 1x Dan Frazier’s Mox Box – foil-etched Secret Lair drop $110
- 1x Relentless Rats non-foil – Secret Lair promo by Graham Yarrington $6
- 1x Chaos Draft 24-Booster Grab Bag:
- 1x Dominaria Remastered Draft Booster $4.70
- 3x Modern Horizons 2 Draft Boosters $17.34 (total)
- 1x Dominaria United Draft Booster $3.45
- 1x The Brothers’ War Draft Booster $3.30
- 2x Streets of New Capenna Draft Boosters $5.90
- 4x Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Draft Boosters $15.24
- 3x Wilds of Eldraine Draft Boosters $11.07
- 4x March of the Machine Draft Boosters $14.68
- 1x Phyrexia: All Will Be One Draft Booster $4.03
- 2x Innistrad: Crimson Vow Draft Boosters $7.24
- 2x Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Draft Boosters $7.34
This all adds up to $340 worth of value! That said, if you’re looking to sell this off as a unit to somebody else, TCGplayer offers the entire bundle for about $350.
With all that said and done, how do you win this Festival in a Box on MTG Arena?
The Event
On December eighth, MTG Arena players in the U.S. have one chance to acquire this lofty prize. For a 5000 gem entry, which is about the same as day one of an Arena Open, players will have the opportunity to play Chaos Sealed.
Unlike traditional sealed, players will receive nine packs instead of the traditional six packs for this event. Even though the event has chaos in its name, players will receive a consistent number of packs. One pack from each of these nine sets will be given for players to build their Sealed deck with:
- Innistrad: Midnight Hunt
- Innistrad: Crimson Vow
- Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty
- Streets of New Capenna
- Dominaria United
- The Brothers’ War
- Phyrexia: All Will Be One
- March of the Machine
- Wilds of Eldraine
The tricky part comes with the amount of wins versus losses that players can have. You need six wins to earn yourself a Festival in a Box, but you can only lose once. As soon as you lose twice, your run is over.
Because this Sealed event will be done in a best of one format, luck will be rather important. Keeping a bad hand, or simply flooding out just once, could be enough to end your run.
Otherwise, five wins will grant competitors their entry fee back, and four wins will grant you 2000 gems. As a reminder, players eligible for this prize need to be 18 years or older, and must reside in The U.S.
If you’re interested in trying to compete for this prize for yourself, we highly recommend you read MTG Arena’s terms and conditions for the event before participating.
The Festival in a Box Chaos Sealed event will begin on December 8 and will be available for the weekend, ending on December 10.
A Chance for Paper Players
If MTG Arena is not your cup of tea, or you reside in the country in the cold north to the U.S., there is one more opportunity to win some goodies from the MTG Vegas Festival in a Box at your local game store.
A similar Chaos event will be held at participating Local Game stores in Canada and the U.S. between the dates of January 5th and January 21st. Instead of Chaos Sealed, these events will be Chaos Drafts. The winner, will receive the Dan Frazier Mox Box as well as the Relentless Rats promotional card. The rest of the contents of the Festival in a Box will also be up for grabs, but can be split up as prize support for the event as the LGS owner chooses.
