This week, a Banned List announcement shakes up the market. And Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty spoilers cause multiple price spikes.
Welcome to The MTG Marketplace, a weekly article on MTG Rocks where we cover each week’s biggest price spikes and overall market trends.
Biggest Winners
Kusari-Gama
Prices of old Kamigawa cards have been trending up for the last several weeks due to the hype for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty.
This week, Kusari-Gama jumped from $3.00 to $7.00. A new Neon Dynasty mechanic called “modified” is likely driving the price up. Modified cares about creatures that are equipped, enchanted, or have +1/+1 counters.

Elvish Reclaimer
This card spiked last week from $4.00 to $7.00. But Elvish Reclaimer continued trending up since then. It is currently $10.00.
This is likely due to the channel lands spoiled from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Boseiju, Who Endures, seems particularly good and it shares the same color identity as Reclaimer.

The B&R Announcement Affects the Market
There was a big Banned and Restricted announcement on Tuesday that impacted Standard, Historic, and Legacy.
Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer was banned in Legacy. This ban opened up the metagame and consequently caused movement on the secondary market.
Day’s Undoing went from $3.00 to $6.00-$7.00. And multiple versions of Entomb skyrocketed. At the time of writing, the cheapest Entomb on TCGPlayer is about $30.00, while the Odyssey copy is about $45.00.

SELL! SELL! SELL!
At the time of writing, Mirror Gallery is about $25.00-$30.00. It is NOT going to hold this price for long because check out this new Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty card:
Mirror Box does the exact same thing that Mirror Gallery does, except it costs two less mana to play, is a Glorious Anthem for legendary creatures, and acts as a Coat of Arms for creatures of the same name.
This card is a “strictly better” Mirror Gallery and Gallery’s price will suffer long-term because of it.
