Now that the full MTG Marvel Super Heroes set has been revealed, we can get stuck into the ever-exciting brewing phase. With 386 new cards in total from the main set alone, there’s no shortage of ingredients to try out this time around, either. The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster, for example, is a new MTG legend that hasn’t had much fanfare so far, but actually enables a new two-card infinite combo in Standard.
The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster Combo MTG

To pull off the combo in question, all you need is The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster and Aurelia, the Warleader in play. Attack with both creatures, and resolve Jane Foster’s attack trigger first, blinking Aurelia and returning it to play tapped. Next, resolve Aurelia’s trigger, untapping both creatures and giving you another combat phase.
Provided Jane Foster survives swinging in, you can then rinse and repeat this process for infinite combat phases. If your opponent lacks adequate air defenses, you will win the game on the spot as Jane Foster gets in for three over and over.
Sadly, while this combo is exciting, it doesn’t seem too viable in Standard’s current environment. Not only is this combo color-intensive, but there are tons of massive Flying bodies, like Quantum Riddler and Sunderflock, to block Jane Foster.
If you want to make this combo work anyway, there are some cards that can help make it more viable. Cheap removal like Erode and Into the Flood Maw, for example, can be used to clear massive blockers efficiently. Alternatively, granting Jane Foster Indestructible with Boros Charm or Adept Watershaper can set up alternate win conditions.
Unfortunately, even with these cards to help, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle with this combo duo. It’s simply too clunky for the format right now, and the individual pieces can be easily removed. If you want to catch your opponents off guard in casual games, however, this is a great new way to do just that.
