Back in February, Wizards of the Coast kicked things off hard with an incredible Tarkir: Dragonstorm First Look. Showcasing a new Mox exclusive to Dragons, it appears as though this set is a strong one. This has only made players even more eager to see what the rest of the set looks like. Fortunately, you do not need to wait much longer.
We’ve known for some time now that Tarkir: Dragonstorm’s official spoiler season kickoff begins on Tuesday, March 18th. After a new reveal, however, it turns out that one spoiler comes out even earlier. It turns out, new Tarkir: Dragonstorm spoilers will arrive once Monday rolls around.
Tarkir: Dragonstorm Spoilers Start Monday
While Wizards will start previewing Tarkir: Dragonstorm cards one day earlier than expected, Monday’s spoiler is just a single card. Previewed via the Tarkir: Dragonstorm story, it’s hard to know what card will be spoiled to the world. That said, there’s a good chance it will be a Planeswalker since this will be the conclusion of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm story.
We already know from previous hints that the two Planeswalker cards in Tarkir: Dragonstorm are Ugin and Elspeth. Between the two, Ugin seems like the more likely contender. We’ve seen very little of the Spirit Dragon since he’s spent all his time trying to keep Nicol Bolas in captivity. He finally appeared in the last chapter, which could mean that the Planeswalker has yet to do something grand.
Of course, Nicol Bolas could also be the character spoiled by Dragonstorm: Tarkir’s Monday teaser. However, should that card be spoiled in this manner, it is unlikely to be a Planeswalker because Nicol Bolas no longer has their Spark. That said, Nicol Bolas’s role in this story is more likely to set him up as a future villain, so the focus may not be on him.
Either way, whatever ends up being spoiled, we’ll be sure to have all the details here once the card hits the scene.
Commander Decks
While we get a small taste of Tarkir: Dragonstorm on Monday, the set’s spoiler season officially kicks off on Tuesday. Tarkir: Dragonstorm then continues spoiling cards until March 27th.
Interestingly, the Commander spoilers for this season don’t occur sequentially. Generally, Commander cards that aren’t part of the main set are all spoiled near the end of the season day after day. This time around, Commander spoilers span from March 19th to March 25th, with multiple days between each precon deck. The first precon deck, Jeskai Striker, is spoiled just a day after Tarkir: Dragonstorm’s spoiler season begins. Here are the spoiler dates for all four Commander precon decks:
- Jeskai Striker – March 19th
- Abzan Armor – March 20th
- Sultai Arisen – March 21st
- Mardu Surge – March 24th
- Temur Roar – March 25th
Of course, we’ll be sure to have all the details available here shortly after the cards go live. Tarkir: Dragonstorm’s official release date is April 11th, but Prerelease weekend kicks off on April 4th.
