Wizards has a bad habit of letting Universes Beyond reveals encroach on in-Universe sets, and today we’re seeing another instance of that. Despite new Secrets of Strixhaven spoilers trickling into existence via the MTG story, a new promo, featuring Marvel artwork, has just dropped. While the Thanos art here is sweet, the price of entry for this Swords to Plowshares is steep, to say the least.
The PSA Swords To Plowshares Promo

Revealed in an X post from the official PSA account, this new Swords to Plowshares promo is iconic on multiple axes. The artwork, showing Thanos after the Snap, will be immediately recognizable to Marvel fans. If that weren’t enough, Swords to Plowshares is one of the strongest removal spells in all of MTG. The card is a Commander super-staple and sees a ton of play in Premodern, Legacy, and Vintage to boot.
Great artwork plus a great card is a classic recipe for success, so chances are this will be a very pricey promo indeed. We’ve seen fancy printings of Swords go for a ton in the past, with the MagicFest 2025 Final Fantasy version selling for over $400 right now. Even on the lower end, the Swords from The Office Secret Lair drop is still worth around $17.
This new promo has a real chance to exceed prior expectations, too, given its delivery method. As confirmed in the reveal post, this promo will be available only to PSA Magazine subscribers in the April 14th edition. PSA subscriptions cost $150 a year on the low end, meaning that you’re essentially paying that price for this.
Naturally, players online aren’t too happy about this, with some calling the $150 paywall “insane.” This is a ton to ask for just one card, even if you are getting a magazine subscription and discounted grading in the bargain. With such a high barrier to entry, this could end up being quite a rare promo down the line.
Early Mind Stone Artwork?

In addition to the Swords to Plowshares promo, the PSA post also included early artwork for our second Infinity Stone, The Mind Stone. Its inclusion here is honestly bizarre, as no context was given for why it’s there. This isn’t being advertised as another potential PSA promo, it’s simply in the post as well. Considering the different background to the Swords promo, it may even have been added unintentionally.
In any case, this new artwork doesn’t tell us much. From the legendary frame, we can deduce that The Mind Stone will be either white or colorless. Besides that, though, we can’t glean any information about the card’s functionality from here. We’d expect Wizards to share the full card a fair bit in advance of Marvel Super Heroes’ release in June. Hopefully it’ll wait, however, until Secrets of Strixhaven has had its time in the sun.
