Wizards of the Coast has been putting out some incredible stuff for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty! They’ve had some great story pieces, and MaRo’s Teaser article has us pumped for the set even more! In one of the new Story chapters, which is REALLY long by the way, there’s a piece of artwork that’s got us freaked! It could be nothing, but it could be the return of the dreaded Phyrexians.
He’s Back
The art that you see before you appears to be that of good ol’ Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. Kaito is getting into some investigatory work it appears, and happens to stumble upon this massive being. Interestingly enough, Tezzeret is also mentioned in the story by Kaito’s friend, Tameshi.
Could we see a Tezzeret and Jin-Gitaxias card in the set? I think that there’s a high likelihood that we do. Considering that the both of these characters are pretty big fan favorites in the game, and we saw Vorinclex appear in Kaldheim, it’s definitely possible that we get both of these. I don’t think that we’ll end up seeing other Praetors though, as that’d probably detract from the rest of the set’s theme and story, not to mention I don’t believe that the others fit the theme of chrome and metal quite as well.
