Over the past few weeks, a bunch of different Secret Lair products have become available for purchase. Following the Our Boss is On Vacation Secret Lair Superdrop, new MTG Spongebob and Deadpool Secret Lairs entered the spotlight.
As players continue to get bombarded with new products and their wallets begin to feel the effects, it appears as though we have yet another collection of cards on the way. While we aren’t too sure exactly what’s in store this time around, we do know that a full Secret Lair Commander deck is getting revealed in four days. Let’s take a closer look at this “announcement” and see what information we can gather.
Secret Lair Commander Deck
Yesterday, content creator “ManaCurves” posted an interesting message on their Bluesky page. They mentioned that on April 9 at 9 a.m. PT, they would be previewing a new product. Interestingly, they made it clear that they don’t actually know what they’re going to be revealing yet. Based on the Secret Lair statement shown above, though, we have at least a brief description to go off of.
We know that the product this time around is a full-blown Commander deck. We also know that while ManaCurves will be showcasing this Commander deck via Twitch, Instagram, or Tiktok, the deck will be revealed on the Secret Lair website as well.
Given the timing of the preview, some players believe that the Commander deck will go on sale when it is announced. This would definitely make sense, as most Superdrops in the past have gone live at 9 a.m. PT as well.
Unfortunately, without having full details ahead of time, this could force players to scramble last minute to try to get in line to pick up this Commander deck. Nonetheless, this is just speculation, as it hasn’t been confirmed that the Commander deck will even go on sale at all at this time.
Speculation and Play Reaction
Speaking of speculation, players were quick to share their guesses for what theme they believed the Commander deck would be centered around. The most popular prediction by far is that the Commander deck will be based on Hatsune Miku.
One player believes that the combination of the background color behind the announcement as well as the mention of an “audience” in the final paragraph point to the product being a full Hatsune Miku deck. This is a reasonable conclusion, but we’ll just have to wait and see what gets previewed.
Beyond the predictions, players also gave their thoughts on the fact that so many Secret Lairs have been revealed in such a short span. Some players mentioned that they were “tired,” while others stated that they feel like Wizards should slow down on the releases.
FOMO is real, but there’s no doubt that players are eager to find out what this new Commander deck brings to the table. Make sure to check back in on Wednesday to see what all the fuss is about.
