Now that 2025’s last MTG set is on store shelves for all to see, Magic: The Gathering spoilers are starting to move towards 2026. A series of promotional cards are already gracing the internet, including a bizarrely buff Fblthp partnered with a charming Loot. It appears that the stream of promos isn’t over yet, however, as a potentially pricy reprint has been spoiled for a unique event. The Spotlight Series is coming to Canada for the first time, offering a promo as unique as the occasion.
Textless Vendilion Clique

Originally printed in Morningtide, Vendillion Clique is getting its first Textless reprint at Spotlight Series: Toronto. Offering a 3/1 body with Flying and Flash that forces an opponent to part with their best card, Vendillion Clique is the perfect mix of disruption and tempo. In an emergency, you can use this card to Rummage something out of your own hand, but this generally means you’re in danger.
Sadly, while Vendilion Clique used to see tons of competitive Modern play, the card has been power crept out of relevance over the years. That said, Vendilion Clique does see a surprising amount of Duel Commander play. Appearing in a wide variety of different blue Commanders, Clique seems to be a staple for any tempo decks that can afford to run the card. Considering the format’s tempo-oriented and singleton nature, this makes a lot of sense.
Vendilion Clique also remains a somewhat popular card in Commander, which could lead to some players chasing after this variant. The card is particularly popular alongside Fairy Typal Commanders like Alela, Cunning Conqueror, but is also appearing as a common inclusion in the new Wan Shi Tong, All-Knowing Commander deck.
For now, Vendilion Clique’s cheapest printing has a secondary market value of about $2, but this copy will likely be a bit more than that. Past Spotlight Series Promos have consistently had a considerable premium attached to them, particularly because, unlike other tournament promos, these cards are only offered at one event. Even cheaper reprints from past Spotlights, like Get Lost, have a $60 secondary-market value despite the card being worth only about $4. This will be even more noticeable for the foil variant of the card, since only 128 copies will ever exist. For reference, previous foil Spotlight Series promos have sold for $1000 and up.
Flavorful, but Middling
Despite Vendilion Clique seeing very little play, players still seem excited about the reprint overall. Clique remains a thematic reprint for the Lorwyn Eclipsed-themed Spotlight series, featuring a Limited tournament for Magic’s newest set. Heck, there’s even a chance the card could be reprinted in Lorwyn Eclipsed, but this has yet to be confirmed, and seems somewhat unlikely.
This reprint could certainly have been a little more exciting, but players more or less seem excited about yet another iconic, textless card gracing Magic’s long history.
