MTG Players Discover New Ultra Chase $2500 Tmnt Bonus Card

Share

Thanks to some ridiculously quick shipping, the bonus cards from the Totally Tubular TMNT Superdrop were revealed last week. With each drop getting its own unique fixed bonus card, there’s a lot of extra flavor on offer. Sadly, from a value perspective, the majority of these bonus cards are duds, outside of the chase option.

Continuing the latest cycle of ‘Relentless’ cards, the TMNT Superdrop has a chase Slime Against Humanity reprint. With the previous reprint selling for $250, it’s safe to say this is the TMNT bonus card that you want. Now, however, it turns out that the Totally Tubular TMNT Superdrop has a second, even rarer, bonus card.

Bandana Bonanza

Slime Against Humanity | Secret Lair 7077

When Totally Tubular TMNT bonus cards started to appear online, Slime Against Humanity 7078 was one of the first to be revealed. Showcasing each of the turtles in a red bandana, like the original Mirage comics, players assumed that was the lot. While the ID number didn’t match the last Slime Against Humanity we saw, these do jump around a lot.

Over the weekend, however, MTG players discovered that there was a second, almost indistinguishable Slime Against Humanity card. Unlike 7078, the newly discovered 7077 bonus card has the turtles in their iconic colored bandanas. As the more familiar version, it’s likely this version will be in higher demand, but getting copies of it won’t be easy.

While we only have anecdotal evidence from players online, so far, the 7077 variant appears to be significantly rarer. This is fantastic news for anyone who has pulled one of these cards, but bad for those after a copy. Currently, while it’s still very early days, the 7078 Slime Against Humanity has already sold for $230 on eBay.

So far, it doesn’t seem like any 7077 copies of Slime Against Humanity have been sold. The one listed copy on eBay, however, is priced at $2,500. While rarity can make some insanely expensive MTG cards, this price point does feel very optimistic. Even the Fallout Mana Vault bonus card only sells for around $1,600, so that feels like the price ceiling.

Try Your Luck?

Ultimately, for now, it’s unclear how much the 7077 variant of Slime Against Humanity will end up selling for. Realistically, it’s still very early days, as the Totally Tubular TMNT Superdrop has only been available for a week so far. In fact, at the moment, all of the TMNT Secret Lair drops are still available for purchase with no “low stock” warnings.

Since the Slime Against Humanity bonus cards can appear in any Secret Lair, this means there’s still the possibility of finding one. While this could easily make for an insane pull, the more of these cards that get opened, the more the price will drop. Due to this, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens to the card’s price over time.
