Incredible MTG Clearance Sale Essentially Offers 6 Packs for $2

Share

While MTG designer Mark Rosewater recently stated that MTG Spider Man outsold Edge of Eternities, looking at store shelves paints a different picture. Many stores struggled to keep Edge of Eternities in stock, while MTG Spider Man sat on shelves for ages. Now, it appears that even big-box stores have been struggling to move this controversial set’s products.

Currently, it looks like Costco is running a wild clearance sale on MTG Spider Man product. Not only does this make the set’s supposedly impressive sales seem dubious, but it’s also incredibly unexpected from Costco. Typically, this store has no trouble selling its unique bundles thanks to the fantastic value they offer. While this is unusual, the good news is that MTG players can get one hell of a good deal if they’re fast.

MTG Spider Man on Clearance

While Spider Man Costco bundles have been around for some time now, they only recently started drawing interest from the playerbase. Two months ago, the Costco Spider Man bundle, offering a promo and six packs, was available for $37.99. Now, the same deal is available for just $9.97, suggesting that Costco Managers really want these cards off of their shelves.

For just $10, this Costco clearance deal is almost a no-brainer. The promo, Spider-Man, Miles Morales on offer here is $8.20 itself, which almost pays for the entire deal. Thanks to this, you’re essentially getting six booster packs of MTG Spider Man for just $2. Even if you don’t count the promo, you’re essentially paying $1.66 per pack, which is still an incredible deal.

Interestingly, even at this price point, you’re not guaranteed to get a single $2 card in all of your booster packs. Currently, there are only 11 default variant hits in MTG Spider Man that are worth $2 or more. Making things worse, The Soul Stone and Multiversal Passage are the only hits in the set that are above $10.

While there are some players who aren’t totally convinced, many MTG players would gladly grab these off the shelves for just $10. Even if Spider Man isn’t the most exciting pack to open, this deal is definitely one of the cheapest ways to satisfy the pack-cracking urge.

Great for the Right price

While this Costco clearance deal is fantastic, finding it might be a lot more difficult. A Costco in Plano, Texas has the $9.97 deal available, but other posts suggest that some Costcos still have the Web-Slinger kit available for $19.97 as of just four days ago. Costco’s official website, meanwhile, still has the kits for $29.99. If you’re interested in buying Spider Man booster packs anyway, the $30 bundle is technically still worth it, but we can’t reasonably recommend it.

Thanks to this uncertainty, if you’re interested in this, your best bet is going to your local Costco store yourself to see what the going rate for the Spider Man bundle is. If these packs are on clearance, this might be the cheapest collection of MTG packs available for a while.
