With seven major MTG sets launching throughout 2026, players rarely have more than six weeks between each release. While this feels incredibly daunting, Wizards has been tweaking things where possible. Spoiler seasons, for instance, have been shortened dramatically this year, allowing for sets to have more breathing room.
As much as this is good news for players looking to enjoy the latest set, it’s left the past few weeks being unnaturally quiet. Thanks to this, many MTG players have been wondering when on earth Secrets of Strixhaven spoilers are going to begin. Luckily, for those players, at least, the wait is almost over, as the next MTG spoiler season starts next week.
MTG Secrets of Strixhaven Spoiler Season
Officially, the spoiler season for Secrets of Strixhaven is set to start on March 31st, 2026. This was confirmed by Wizards of the Coast last week during the Planeswalker’s guide article for the set. This article also confirmed that the story chapters for Secrets of Strixhaven will resume this week.
Much like we saw with Lorwyn Eclipsed, we’re only getting six story chapters ahead of the debut for Secrets of Strixhaven. These begin today, March 23rd, and run until March 31st when the spoiler season kicks off. After this, there will also be five side stories, released throughout preview season, to look forward to.
Notably, while story chapters are well worth reading on their own, recently, Wizards has been sneaking spoilers into them. While there’s no guarantee this will happen again, we’ve gotten plenty of spicy spoilers this way before. During Lorwyn Eclipsed’s story, for instance, we saw High Perfect Morcant, one of the best Commanders in the entire set.
For better or worse, there’s no telling what, if any, Secrets of Strixhaven cards will be revealed this week. Ultimately, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Thankfully, until then, there are a few concrete things to look forward to. For starters, the latest MTG ban announcement will happen today, and Mark Rosewater’s teaser should appear sometime this week.
