Recently, in a series of leaks, MTG players have caught wind of a potential Goblin-themed Secret Lair Commander precon. While the product hasn’t been announced in any way, shape, or form at the time of writing, we’ve already had dozens of potential reprints for it leaked online.
As much as the artwork for the Secret Lair is certainly charming, so far, this just looked like your run-of-the-mill Goblin Typal deck. This is already plenty exciting for some MTG players, but it wasn’t something that players would have expected to have to line up for.
That, however, has all changed following a new leak from this mysterious deck, provided it’s legitimate. It looks like The Romaing Throne is going to be reprinted in Magic’s near-ish future. Players have been begging for a Roaming Throne reprint since the card was first released, so this is great news. Sadly, the Monkey’s Paw seems to have curled with this one, as this reprint will not make the card even remotely more affordable.
MTG Roaming Throne

Since its debut in The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Roaming Throne quickly became extremely popular in Commander, seeing play in over 525,000 different decks according to EDHREC. Considering how strong this card is in just about any Commander archetype, it’s easy to see why.
Roaming Throne can copy everything from entry to combat triggers, unifying different types of payoffs in typal decks. Because of this versatility, you don’t even need to be in a typal strategy to use this card. Any Commander with a strong triggered ability can have their ability copied by Roaming Throne, creating massive value.
If that weren’t enough, Roaming Throne also sees some competitive play. In Standard, Roaming Throne makes for a particularly sticky threat in Elemental decks, which can run away with the game if not dealt with immediately.
Thanks to massive Commander demand that’s only being compounded by competitive interest, Roaming Throne is one of the most expensive rares released in the last few years. Currently, near-mint non-foil copies of this card sell for around $60, so it’s safe to say that a reprint is needed.
Now that a Roaming Throne reprint has been revealed, many players have expressed concerns about potential sellouts for the Goblin-themed Secret Lair deck. With many MTG players now certain that this unconfirmed product will not have enough supply, we could have a massive rush to market on our hands if this Secret Lair ever does get revealed.
