With Star Trek’s spoiler season finally over, it’s become extremely clear how loaded the set is for Commander players. Tons of expensive reprints are up for grabs here, potentially making some popular staples more affordable.
Today, we’ll go over the most expensive reprints to give you a better sense of where to find extra value.
Notably, because this set hasn’t officially released and preorder prices are wonky, we are focusing on the lowest near-mint listings on TCGplayer for any variant of each reprint. We also won’t be including the Stardates Bonus Sheet cards in this list since we broke that down already.
10 | Heroic Intervention | $9.50

Heroic Intervention has been reprinted countless times, but that didn’t stop Wizards from giving the card yet another Star Trek printing. It’s hard to complain, either, given just how impactful the card is in EDH.
Being able to protect your whole board from Wraths is hugely important for green creature decks. You can also use this card proactively with your own board wipes, or even pair this with
Armageddon
Armageddon
Destroy all lands.
to send your opponents back to the Stone Ages.
With so much versatility in such an efficient spell, it’s understandable why this instant shows up in over 1.5 million decks, according to EDHREC.
9 | Alhammarret’s Archive | $10

Alhammarret’s Archive is a powerful artifact that sees lots of EDH play. The big prize is doubling up on card draw spells, which Commanders like
Varina, Lich Queen
Varina, Lich Queen
Whenever you attack with one or more Zombies, draw that many cards, then discard that many cards. You gain that much life.
{2}, Exile two cards from your graveyard: Create a tapped 2/2 black Zombie creature token.
and
Zedruu, the Greathearted
Zedruu, the Greathearted
At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain X life and draw X cards, where X is the number of permanents you own that your opponents control.
{U}{R}{W}: Target opponent gains control of target permanent you control.
can take full advantage of.
If that weren’t enough, this artifact also amplifies life gain, making it a staple for decks like
Hope Estheim
Hope Estheim
Lifelink
At the beginning of your end step, each opponent mills X cards, where X is the amount of life you gained this turn.
and
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic
At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain 2 life.
Whenever you gain life, you may pay {1}. If you do, draw a card and each opponent loses 1 life.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if Oloro is in the command zone, you gain 2 life.
. With so much versatility, it’s no wonder this card appears in 162,000 decks, according to EDHREC.
All of this demand has helped the card maintain a rather hefty $10 price tag. Thanks to its reprint in the Federation Fleet precon, though, Alhammarret’s Archive could become more affordable once Star Trek releases.
8 | Steam Vents | $10

While most of the reprints on this list can be found in the Star Trek Commander precons, all 10 Shock lands are also getting reprinted in the main set. These lands are very close in quality to the ultra-expensive Alpha Duals and, unsurprisingly, are multi-format staples as a result.
In Modern, being able to search for these lands off Fetch lands is a massive deal. Yet, even in formats like Standard and Pioneer where Fetches aren’t legal, these lands are still the best around for multi-color strategies.
Despite their vast number of reprints, these lands are still quite valuable. Steam Vents is the most expensive, worth $10 in its cheapest form, but the others aren’t far behind.
7 | Ancient Greenwarden | $10.50

It may be a little clunky, but Ancient Greenwarden makes up for this by having a massive impact on the game. Like
Crucible of Worlds
Crucible of Worlds
You may play lands from your graveyard.
, this threat pairs perfectly with lands that naturally go to the graveyard, like Fetch lands.
The real spice, however, is its trigger-doubling ability, which lets any Landfall payoff go completely nuts. Ancient Greenwarden is a staple in
The Necrobloom
The Necrobloom
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, create a 0/1 green Plant creature token. If you control seven or more lands with different names, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token instead.
Land cards in your graveyard have dredge 2. (You may return a land card from your graveyard to your hand and mill two cards instead of drawing a card.)
and
Omnath, Locus of Creation
Omnath, Locus of Creation
When Omnath enters, draw a card.
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, you gain 4 life if this is the first time this ability has resolved this turn. If it's the second time, add {R}{G}{W}{U}. If it's the third time, Omnath deals 4 damage to each opponent and each planeswalker you don't control.
decks as a result.
Currently, the cheapest copies readily available are from Foundations Jumpstart, starting at $10.50. Yet, Star Trek preorder prices are already starting to fall below this threshold, which should hopefully make the card more affordable soon.
6 | World at War | $11

Cards that grant extra combat steps have plenty of appeal in Commander, and World at War is no exception. For five mana, you get two extra combat steps and main phases spread across two turns.
This way, you can take advantage of brutal attack triggers, like from
Narset, Enlightened Master
Narset, Enlightened Master
First strike, hexproof
Whenever Narset attacks, exile the top four cards of your library. Until end of turn, you may cast noncreature spells from among those cards without paying their mana costs.
, multiple times. Cards that trigger at the beginning of combat, such as
Rootha, Mastering the Moment
Rootha, Mastering the Moment
At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you've cast an instant or sorcery spell this turn, create an X/X blue and red Elemental creature token with flying and haste, where X is the greatest mana value among instant and sorcery spells you've cast this turn.
, also synergize perfectly with this tool.
Up to this point, this card’s only printings since it debuted in Rise of the Eldrazi were on The List and in a Secret Lair. This contributed to its beefy $11 price tag, which will likely drop a decent amount once Star Trek copies hit the market.
5 | The Immortal Sun | $11

For six mana, The Immortal Sun provides a multitude of static effects that all add up to make the card quite useful in EDH. The best mode is certainly the card draw, which comes in handy in mono-colored non-blue decks that need access to more card draw.
Of course, the discount comes in handy in decks like
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
When you cast this spell, draw four cards.
Annihilator 4 (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player sacrifices four permanents of their choice.)
When Kozilek is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles their graveyard into their library.
that rely on high-cost monsters, while the Anthem is useful at pumping a token army. With Superfriends decks on the rise thanks to Reality Fracture, The Immortal Sun is one of the best ways to shut off
Jace, Multiverse Architect
Jace, Multiverse Architect
At the beginning of combat on each opponent's turn, they may pay {2}. If they don't, creatures they control can't attack Jaces you control this turn.
+1: Draw two cards, then put a card from your hand on the bottom of your library.
−3: Exile another target planeswalker or creature you control. Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a creature or planeswalker card. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Jace, Multiverse Architect can be your commander.
decks.
This is the artifact’s first appearance in a Commander precon, making it a very welcome reprint at $11. With supply being a potential factor in this card’s price point, this reprint could make The Immortal Sun a lot more affordable.
4 | Guardian Project | $11.50

Green decks in Commander don’t always have the easiest time drawing extra cards, but Guardian Project works overtime in this department. This card’s only downside is that you don’t draw cards off duplicate creatures, but that’s not a concern in Commander.
The only caveat is that you need to play lots of creatures to maximize this effect. Luckily, decks like
Lathril, Blade of the Elves
Lathril, Blade of the Elves
Menace (This creature can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.)
Whenever Lathril deals combat damage to a player, create that many 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature tokens.
{T}, Tap ten untapped Elves you control: Each opponent loses 10 life and you gain 10 life.
and
Animar, Soul of Elements
Animar, Soul of Elements

Whenever you cast a creature spell, put a +1/+1 counter on Animar.
Creature spells you cast cost {1} less to cast for each +1/+1 counter on Animar.
have no issue playing a bunch of creatures every turn cycle.
With over 350,000 decks to its name according to EDHREC, Guardian Project is always a sought-after tool, worth $11.50. Hopefully, this reprint will make the card a bit more affordable for players to pick up.
3 | Unwinding Clock | $18.50

Unwinding Clock is a well-known synergy piece for artifact decks, but it might do more than you expect. Right off the bat, any artifacts with strong activated abilities, such as
Shorikai, Genesis Engine
Shorikai, Genesis Engine
{1}, {T}: Draw two cards, then discard a card. Create a 1/1 colorless Pilot creature token with "This token crews Vehicles as though its power were 2 greater."
Crew 8 (Tap any number of creatures you control with total power 8 or more: This Vehicle becomes an artifact creature until end of turn.)
, get a big boost when they can be activated four times per turn cycle.
Alternatively, you can generate mana advantage by untapping mana rocks, then sink them into
Aerid Konstrari
Aerid Konstrari
Flying
When Aerid Konstrari enters or dies, create a Heartwood token. (It's a red and green artifact with "{T}: Add {R} or {G}.")
{6}: Create a Heartwood token. Then Aerid Konstrari gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is the number of artifacts you control.
‘s ability or save them up with
Omnath, Locus of the Void
Omnath, Locus of the Void
Omnath gets +1/+1 for each unspent mana you have.
If you would lose unspent mana, that mana becomes colorless instead.
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, add {C}{C}.
. Soon enough, you’ll have a boatload of mana to use as you please!
This card even opens the door for unique combos. When combined with
Mycosynth Lattice
Mycosynth Lattice
All permanents are artifacts in addition to their other types.
All cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells, and permanents are colorless.
Players may spend mana as though it were mana of any color.
and
Kill Switch
Kill Switch
{2}, {T}: Tap all other artifacts. They don't untap during their controllers' untap steps for as long as this artifact remains tapped.
, for example, you can essentially lock your opponents out of ever using their mana.
All of these cool applications make Unwinding Clock a neat Commander option for a variety of Artifact strategies. At $18.50, this is a premium reprint.
2 | Morphic Pool | $22

Back in Battlebond, Wizards introduced a half-cycle of incredible duals for Commander. So long as you have two or more opponents, which is guaranteed at the start of a traditional four-player Commander game, these lands enter untapped with no drawback! Commander Legends would eventually finish the set, giving Commander players a new set of dual lands with no downsides.
Now, in the Star Trek set, four of them are earning reprints. Morphic Pool is worth the most at $22, but
Sea of Clouds

{T}: Add {W} or {U}.
,
Training Center

{T}: Add {U} or {R}.
, and
Vault of Champions

{T}: Add {W} or {B}.
aren’t too far behind. For space, we grouped these lands together, as they’d otherwise take up a ton of spots on this list.
1 | Exploration | $28

Few cards will warp a Commander game on turn one more than Exploration. On top of developing a massive mana advantage, Exploration doubles up on your Landfall triggers, generating tons of value in the right decks. You still need to keep hitting your land drops, but Crucible of Worlds effects make that trivial.
Beyond EDH, Exploration also plays a big role in Legacy Lands. The combination of this enchantment,
Life from the Loam
Life from the Loam
Return up to three target land cards from your graveyard to your hand.
Dredge 3 (If you would draw a card, you may mill three cards instead. If you do, return this card from your graveyard to your hand.)
, and
Wasteland
Wasteland
{T}: Add {C}.
{T}, Sacrifice this land: Destroy target nonbasic land.
helps lock the opponent out completely.
Worth $28, Exploration is well ahead of the pack, earning the title of most expensive Star Trek reprint. Hopefully, this massive boost in supply will make Exploration, and the rest of the cards on this list, more affordable for players to pick up.
