2026 is truly a blockbuster year for Magic: The Gathering. With four Universes Beyond sets on the release calendar, alongside three in-universe releases, MTG players are being bombarded with content. Unsurprisingly, this can make it difficult to keep track of everything going on, especially when spoilers aren’t contained to a designated spoiler season.
With so much information constantly being released, it’s not uncommon for a few details to slip through the cracks. Thankfully, we’re here to make sure that doesn’t happen. Here’s all the important information and everything you need to know about the MTG Marvel Super Heroes set.
MTG Marvel Super Heroes Release Date

Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that the MTG Marvel Super Heroes Set will be released on June 26th, 2026. One week prior to this, as always, there will be a series of Prerelease events, starting on June 19th. Notably, June 19th is when MTG Marvel Super Heroes will become legal to play on paper, while June 23rd is the MTG Arena and Magic Online release date.
Interestingly, Marvel Super Heroes is also getting an Avengers Academy event series, which starts before Prerelease events. This event will run from June 12th-18th, and will be a casual Two-Headed Giant event with new Marvel Welcome Decks.
So far, Wizards of the Coast has not confirmed the start date for Marvel Super Heroes spoiler season. Past precedent, however, usually has spoilers starting roughly three and a half weeks before the set’s full release. Should this trend continue, the Debut for Marvel Super Heroes, which kicks off spoiler season, should be on June 2nd.
MTG Marvel Super Heroes Spoilers

During the Preview Prologue for MTG Marvel Super Heroes, Wizards revealed 31 spoilers for the set. Out of these, 14 were main set cards, four were Commander cards, and 13 were bonus sheet reprints. To get the hype train rolling, these new spoilers don’t disappoint, with several looking primed for competitive play.
On top of cards like World War Hulk, several early Marvel Super Heroes spoilers look fantastic in Commander. Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk, for instance, has enamored the community, largely thanks to exciting infinite combo potential. At the same time, legends from the Commander set, like Mister Fantastic, look perfect to build around.
Notably, while many of the new spoilers are available in a comic book-style showcase frame, we’ve hardly seen everything on offer yet. We’ve only seen a small snippet of the source material bonus sheet, for instance, and that already includes some pretty pricy reprints. Between Horn of Greed and Heroic Intervention, there are going to be some pretty pricy pulls available within packs.
MTG Marvel Super Heroes Headliner

As leaked early on by some rogue packaging, the Headliner card for MTG Marvel Super Heroes is The Mind Stone. This is the second Infinity Stone we’ve seen, after Spider Man’s Soul Stone, and it functions very similarly.
The Mind Stone is an Indestructible two-mana mana rock that taps for white mana, and can become a more flexible Conjurer’s Closet once you Harness it. Just like its black cousin, this card seems destined for staple status in Commander. Two-mana rocks are rare in the format, and there’s a ton of upside here for very little opportunity cost. White decks also struggle for ramp in general, making this an attractive option for many decks.
The Mind Stone also follows The Soul Stone with regard to its alternate treatments. Like before, this card will be available in a “Gauntlet” version featuring Thanos, as well as a Cosmic Foil version. These printings will easily be the most expensive cards in the set, as Cosmic Foil copies of The Soul Stone have sold for around $15,000.
MTG Marvel Super Heroes Commander Decks

During the Preview Prologue, Wizards of the Coast confirmed that MTG Marvel Super Heroes would have four Commander precons. At the time, only the Fantastic Four face commanders were unveiled, which didn’t give us much to go off. Thankfully, following this at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, the remaining Commander decks were revealed alongside each of their face commanders.
Unfortunately, information about the Marvel Super Heroes Commander decks is limited. Outside of seeing the packaging and the face commander for each deck, no new cards have been revealed. Despite this, it’s hard not to get excited about the little bit of info we do have.
- Avengers Assemble

- Doom Prevails

MTG Marvel Super Heroes Mechanics

So far, two new mechanics have been revealed for the MTG Marvel Super Heroes set. These mechanics are Plan and Power Up.
MTG Plan – Plan is a new enchantment subtype appearing in Marvel Super Heroes. This card type gains Plan Counters through completing game actions, before being sacrificed upon reaching a certain threshold. Currently, judging by Doom Reigns Supreme, it appears Plans will gain counters when a Villain is played, and are sacrificed once reaching five Plan Counters.
MTG Power Up – Similarly to Exhaust from Aetherdrift, Power Up is a mechanic in Marvel Super Heroes that can only be used once. Notably, unlike Exhaust, the cost of this ability is reduced by the card’s mana value if it entered on the same turn you’re using it. Ideally, this should make drawing a creature with a Power Up ability feel more cost-effective late game.
MTG Marvel Super Heroes Products

It looks like Wizards of the Coast is pulling out all the stops for the MTG Marvel Super Heroes set. On top of getting four unique commander decks, there are tons of other products for MTG players and collectors alike. While the official MSRPs for these products haven’t yet been released, it looks like many of these products may be rather expensive.
For starters, Marvel Super Heroes has all of the usual fare we’d expect from a set in 2026. Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, a Bundle, and four Commander decks are all here as normal. On top of that, there is also a Beginner Box, Draft Night, and an entire Jumpstart set. As if all that wasn’t enough, there are even two Scene Boxes available for MTG Marvel Super Heroes.
For those looking for something a little more collectible, this MTG set also has collector’s edition Commander Decks. As an entirely surge foil variant of the normal Commander Deck, these decks are equal parts beloved and expensive. Finally, Wizards will also be releasing an Marvel Super Heroes Gift Bundle on July 17th, 2026, which includes exclusive promos.
That’s All For Now

Sadly, that’s all we know about the MTG Marvel Super Heroes set so far. While this is still a fair whack of information to process, it’s far from the full set. Thankfully, we shouldn’t have to wait too too long before more details are revealed. Even if Wizards keep things up their sleeves for longer than usual, it’s not like we’re short on content in 2026. With Secrets of Strixhaven being released before Marvel Super Heroes, MTG players should have no trouble passing the time.
