Over the course of the last week, more and more leaks from the upcoming Goblin Storm Secret Lair precon release have been getting revealed. With incredible reprints like Roaming Throne headlining the product, it’s only natural that players have been intriguingly awaiting the full decklist.
Luckily, the wait didn’t last too long, as it appears the Goblin Storm precon decklist has now been leaked in its entirety. This collection of cards features a multitude of elite reprints beyond what we’ve previously seen, including a $34 Commander staple for monocolor strategies.
Top Tier

While Roaming Throne still remains the most expensive reprint in the Goblin Storm precon, Throne of Eldraine isn’t too far behind. Providing mono-color decks with both card advantage in the late game and a big chunk of mana, Throne of Eldraine is as strong as mana rocks come. The only thing holding the card back from seeing more play is its $34 price tag, which is quite hefty.
In a similar vein, Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep is technically a card that every mono-red Commander deck should play, but its $18 price is a bit of a detractor. Even though First Strike isn’t an overwhelmingly powerful ability, Shinka entering play untapped essentially makes it a free roll. It also has extra utility with Commanders like Queen Marchesa, since First Strike and Deathtouch are a deadly combo. Even if you end up taking Goblin Storm apart, there are plenty of homes for a card like this.
Goblin Lackey, one of the most powerful Goblins out there, has also earned itself a reprint. Seeing this card on turn one is one of the most fearsome plays to face down, potentially setting up Muxus, Goblin Grandee as early as turn two. With this immense upside, it isn’t too shocking that this creature is selling for roughly $20 on TCGplayer.
Other Strong Reprints

While these three reprints are ahead of everything we haven’t seen yet, there are a few more $9-$12 cards to be found here. General Kreat certainly fits the mold, providing a steady stream of Goblins while simultaneously functioning like Impact Tremors. Scarcity seems to be the cause of this card’s high $10 price tag, making a reprint particularly appreciated.
Moggcatcher is in similar shape, appearing only in Nemesis and as part of The List, and sitting at roughly $11 in its cheapest form. This creature is extremely powerful, enabling you to tutor up your best Goblin threat every single turn. The main downside with Moggcatcher is that you can’t activate its ability right away, making it weak to removal. Fortunately, any Haste enabler like Swiftfoot Boots will solve that problem.
Speaking of which, Arena of Glory is conveniently getting a reprint as well. Much like Shinka, including this land in a mono-red deck with lots of basics comes at very little cost. While it will occasionally come in tapped, the upside of giving a creature like Krenko, Mob Boss Haste is more than worth it. Add the land’s importance in Modern, and Arena of Glory is well worth the $11 price tag.
To further bolster this deck’s go-wide gameplan, Goblin Trashmaster also makes an appearance as a Lord effect with a potentially devastating ability. In a format like Commander, there are bound to be plenty of mana rocks to take down, at minimum. Once you factor in Goblin Trashmaster’s potential to completely demolish opposing Artifact strategies, it’s not shocking that the Core Set 2019 rare is valued near $9.
The last reprint in this value range, Ruby Medallion, is also a multi-format staple. Since its printing in Modern Horizons 3, Ruby Storm has been a consistent tier one deck in Modern. Its impact in Commander is also massive, making it much easier to cast multiple spells in the same turn. Notably, this precon does feature a small Storm package with Grapeshot, and Ruby Medallion plays a crucial role as an enabler. Even with a handful of reprints, this rare still sits at $12.
A Potential Steal
Overall, while the exact price of the Goblin Storm precon has yet to be revealed, this product looks like a great investment. Recent Secret Lair Commander precons, like Everyone’s Invited, have sold for $200. Assuming Goblin Storm sells for the same amount, players will still get their money’s worth.
The combined value of all cards $9 and up is already roughly $175, meaning the nine most valuable cards in the Goblin Storm precon nearly pay for the product by themselves. Once you factor in the rest of the cards, this precon’s reprint value comes to roughly $276. That’s not even counting the Secret Lair premiums on the cards featuring new artwork.
Sadly, as we’ve seen with the Dandan precon, this might mean getting Goblin Storm will be a challenge. With limited products available, there’s a good chance the Goblin Storm precon will sell out very quickly. This likely means that players who don’t jump into the pre-queue will miss out on this Precon. For now, interested parties will have to sit tight and wait for an official release date to be announced.
