Ever since Universes Beyond’s popularity picked up steam, MTG’s crossovers have been steadily getting weirder. A few years ago, a SpongeBob SquarePants crossover seemed like an absolute impossibility. Now, it seems we’re getting a crossover with both Garfield and Felix the Cat quite soon. For better or worse, Wizards is going all out for the Cats Are the Best Superdrop.
The Weirdest Crossover Yet?

Accompanied by a quick teaser video on X, MTG Secret Lair has just teased the Cats Are the Best Superdrop. While we don’t know much about the cards yet, both Garfield and Felix the Cat appear in this graphic from the Secret Lair site, confirming a new crossover with cartoon cats from an era gone by.
While we haven’t seen any Garfield cards as of yet, Felix the Cat’s appearance on a Time Stretch is rather middling. Taking two extra turns can easily end a game of MTG, but at ten mana, this sorcery is extremely hard to cast. Due to this, Time Stretch doesn’t see play in competitive formats, but it remains extremely popular in Commander.
Despite its Commander popularity, Time Stretch is not a very expensive reprint. Thanks to getting a semi-recent reprinting in Dominaria Remastered, Time Stretch only goes for a modest $3. On top of this recent reprint, we also just got a Secret Lair version of this card earlier this week, making it seem rather lazy.
MTG Court of Grace

While Court of Grace isn’t an expensive reprint, it is a playable Commander card. On top of offering a draw engine in Monarchy, Court of Grace gives a steady stream of tokens to use. If you can keep hold of The Monarch, an extra 4/4 Angel can go a long way in Giada, Font of Hope decks. Even outside of that, the 1/1 Humans can do a lot of work alongside Commanders like Marneus Calgar and Mondrak, Glory Dominus.
Despite this card’s mediocre effects, Court of Grace is widely popular in Commander, appearing in 86,000 different decks. Considering this, many MTG players may be interested in upgrading to a premium version of this $2.55 staple.
